What shoe do you wear on a daily basis?

I don't really have any feet problems ...I mostly wear lined loafers, I have 2 pair of Ugg and several cheapies that I wear around the house, I don't have to wear socks and they are comfy and warm.
 
Rubber boots while I’m working in the yard, and I alternate between soft sneakers and leather boots other times, depending on the weather. I have miserable bunions and find most things aren’t comfortable but I pretty much ignore the ouch.
 
I have completely flat feet, or what’s called third degree flat feet. I have several pairs of orthotics that were made from a cast of my feet by my Podiatrist. I would get 1 free pair each year paid for by my employer. I have a pair in most every pair of shoes that I wear. They make a big difference in comfort.
 
I am struggling with this right now. I have an arch problem.

Skechers aren't doing it for me; you can't break in plastic.
Love Clarks brand but the quality isn't there now. It is difficult to break them in.
Do I spend the money for the OrthoFeet brand?

I'm one of those who swears by Sketchers. When I was diagnosed with heel spurs a couple of decades ago, the podiatrist I saw at that time recommended I wear rubber sole shoes and buy New Balance sneakers. I bought two pair of those and still have them because I don't care for them, so hardly ever wore them. Around that time, I discovered Sketchers and currently have four pairs (a couple of different kinds). I absolutely love them. I walked 5 miles on the boardwalk while wearing the soft, lightweight pair and it felt like I was walking on air. My feet never got tired.

My sister recommended them and I bought a pair and I tripped up in them several times. My sister has quite a collection and the styles have changed a lot since the ones I bought but, my experience just put me off them.

The Merrells are great for country hiking but, for street wear, I have quite a lot of trainers (different brands) which are comfy. I also like Toms shoes and, between you and me, I have seen a great pair of Toms boots which I will be keeping an eye on when the New Year sales start. I think I could possibly squeeze just one more pair in the shoe cupboard ;):)

Yeah...I understand that tripping several times would do it. I've fallen on the ground three times and sustained injuries while wearing my Sketchers (not the same pair each time). But it was because the sidewalks were uneven, I was trying too walk too fast and wasn't paying attention. I hope you get those Tom's boots at a great price. You're like me...I waited for a sale on a coat I loved decades ago. I had stopped in the store twice before I got it for almost half price during their seasonal clearance sale.

I love a bargain! I would be too annoyed if I bought them and, come the New Year, they were half price.

Yes, I don't like shoes where you can almost feel the ground, I usually buy shoes with thicker soles.
 
Until getting very painful plantar fasciitis this past spring (one foot has healed, the other is still recovering plus has a heel spur, for good measure :rolleyes:), I lived in bare feet or Deerskin slippers around the house. When outside I wore flip flops, Merrill clogs, and inexpensive rain boots that had almost no padding. Very rarely wore sneakers.

When your feet hurt, you become desperate for solutions and are willing to make some life changes. I bought a pair of Skechers and what a difference! The padding in the "arch fit" line is heaven.

Rather than buying all new footwear, I bought 4 pairs of arch fit inserts. They're spendy at $20/pair from eBay (including shipping and tariffs). I move them between my lesser padded shoes, sneakers, slippers and boots and stack two pairs in my slippers for maximum padding.

it was interesting when i was at the shoe store the salesman said he wouldn't recommend the skechers when i asked about them. they are not the quality they started out as. several of the sneakers i was looking at were $175 a pair and up. because of what i do i can't afford to buy cheap sneakers anymore.
