What Social Media platform do you use the most?

I end up going on LinkedIn a lot. You can find a lot of interesting things on there, not just career stuff, and it's mostly very civil, polite and clean. I like the idea of NextDoor, but mine isn't very interesting (mostly looking for landscapers, lost animals, etc. and one particular lady who does nothing but political posts). I'm so glad I found this forum, because it's by far the most fun and is also very civil, which is so important to me.

Now just here and a book forum as I do love my reading.
I used to post on Facebook but eventually realised what a waste of time it is. Just people showing off or talking nonsense. Nobody talked about anything meaningful. So I rarely even look on there now.
I would rather join a specific group for a purpose. This group is very nice, older wiser folks and it's nice to just chat about life.

With no family for about 1,000 miles distance, Facebook is the main way I keep in touch with family and close friends. I have been away from here for a while but gradually seeing more interesting posts. I have recently joined MeWe and checking out the free version. I am a steam engine enthusiast and love the steam engine groups on Facebook and MeWe.

My other half and I used Twitter for a couple of years jointly but closed the account in January.

I use YouTube regularly but never really think of it as social media as I've never actually left a comment on it, and I don't have my own channel 🤷‍♂️

Never been on FB personally.

Sadly, I'm not sufficiently photogenic for Instagram :ROFLMAO:

Otherwise I'm mostly on here, and am a member of a couple of other forums.

The term "social media" is somewhat vague and did not become an understood term or much used until the widespread rise of smartphones that was well after early World Wide Web Internet arose only when higher bandwidths became available. What has evolved as "Social Media" as used today is different from earlier era lower bandwidth WWW image poor Internet web forums just as web forums were different from the earlier Usenet text only era. So difference followed the rise in available bandwidth for the masses.

Because this is a vague issue, trivially debated, when I use the term to be clear, it is usually qualified as "post smartphone social media". As such IMO narrowly, do not consider this forum "Social Media" as the term has evolved to become though others, especially those that only began using the Internet in this later era after 2005, tend to disagree. Although web forums today now support imagery and multimedia that has been a slow late stage development. All this has also followed the evolution of personal computers that even when the first smartphones and social media sites like Facebook arose about 2005 including first generation Apple iPhone, were still not widespread in use beyond workplaces and the technically savvy.

And NO despite being involved in all this in my career am not interactively on any post smartphone social media.
I like this because I wasn't sure what social media is either. I'm on three different forums, but not facebook, etc.

I’m on a lot but don’t post anywhere anymore ..just came back here now.
Besides forums I’m on..
Facebook..just read a few groups I’ve joined.
Twitter..just read, never post
Tik Tok..seldom read
Instagram..I do look at posts from some family and when I’m bored I could watch their “reels” for a long time..lots of funny dog, cat, people short vids.

It would be about even between here and Facebook except i use FB messenger to keep in touch with daughter while she's at work (sometimes if they get fully booked she gets off early--she also needs to vent about clueless customers (Does no one understand the concept of making reservations in advance any more---especially in a small hotel in small town?

And they seem to expect her to be a font of info they could easily look up on the internet. We're always perplexed by people who did not check weather or road conditions before setting off on a 'spontaneous road trip'). But i have some long time cyber friends, my sons and quite a few extended family members i stay in touch with on FB.

Just here. I used to be on a guitar forum but haven't checked in there for several years. I'm a loner on the internet just like in real life. :ROFLMAO:
I love Chordie for a songs database, although I have probably downloaded most I have an interest in. I have a Larrivee D-03R dreadnaught and it is my main guitar. Sometimes it is positively cathartic to sit down and fingerpick some songs. I recently had open heart surgery and now I find that much of my previous muscle memory seems to have eluded me. It will take some time, but I'll get it all back.

Is there anyone out there who are specifically acoustic players?

Youtube.
Twitter, since they accepted me back after I've been banned for more than 10 times, thanks Elon!
I'm still banned on Facebook: they asked me some 2 months ago (when they banned me A G A I N!) for proof of my ID and I repeatedly replied with extremely 'unfriendly' "ID"s that, most likely, I shouldn't post here. Interestingly enough, though, I was pretty verbally violent with Twitter last time and they let me back in after about 5 weeks ...

Why is TikTok going down?
Here:

"Why does the U.S. government want to ban TikTok? Growing privacy concerns over how the Chinese owners of TikTok handle user data, especially regarding whether the app could be infiltrated by the Chinese government to spy on its 150 million American users, is the central focal point around the ban"
