Anyone remember this one? I found it a few years ago and it reminds me of a young lady I almost married. The song is way before my time, but the song is very reminiscent for me. Maybe some older posters would remember it. Was it popular?
You got me with this (or almost any Smiths song) and Boston's More Than a Feeling. Both are great songs that take me to another place and time.I’ve always found this captivating -- almost mesmerizing for me, especially the guitars. Originally released in 1984 by The Smiths, sung by Morrissey, but this version is performed live by The Smiths’ guitarist, Johnny Marr.

So, I'll submit these two.
I read a short bio about the singer. His genre is Rock-A-Billy. That’s new to me. He has anothe pretty good ballad titled “What In the World’s Come Over You.” You’re right that a lot of the songs in the 50’s were ballads. I think because it was the Doo Wop era and the street corner singers sang a lot of ballads. It came out in 1959. I was only 6 years old, but I remember hearing it on the radio and various tv shows that I would listen to and watch with my grandmother. I know it sounds kind of dorky, but I think songs from the 50's were romantic.
