What Things are You Stocked Up on Now?

Have been stocking up on some things, canned and frozen, through good sales, i have learned to refrain from shopping more than once a week, unless in need of more milk, sometimes in the past i tend to overshop. Paper products are still limited, seems to be a shortage on flour, been waiting on whole wheat flour for quite some time. Fresh fruit and produce have become very pricey, some frozen fruits are hard to get, especially strawberries, meat prices are high as well. Medications, refills have returned to normal, for most kinds, were only able to fill 30 days at a time, now, can fill 2 and 3 months like before Covid 19, there are still limits in place for some drugs, but the ones i'm on , limits have lifted. Learning to except that there very well could be a second appearance of Covid 19, so what i've learned will be helpful for me down the road. Hoping so much that we could be done with this scarey type of life, but may not be the case.
Oh, do I ever wish, too, that this scary time were over! Interesting on what the shortages are now. Aldi's always has lower priced produce and it's in good shape, too.

I've always been someone who keeps a good stock cupboard, and in fact I had started to store a little extra every time I went shopping as from last December due to our impending Brexit and the threat of food shortages.. et al..

I'm very glad I did otherwise I would have been caught out with some thing.. like TP for example..

I have plenty of everything I need for a few weeks if I couldn't get out... ..it also means that I have been able to follow the lockdown rules and just shop when necessary over these last few months .

I actually find the whole supermarket shopping thing these days very stressful, and as I'm not very well, and can't get out too often at the moment, .. .. I'm pleased I have a decent stock of canned & packet goods, as well as a full freezer...

ETA... In December and january long before I knew about the pandemic.. but pre Brexit, I also topped up on Kitchen paper and TP & soap ... as well as OTC meds,...very fortuitous that I did because for weeks we couldn't get any of those things.. including headache pills
I'm sorry you're not very well hd...I hope you'll get better soon. Good on you for being so prepared. 🥰🌟

I have dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent and hand sanitizer. All of which I just happened to stock up on earlier this year..sales and coupons
Food Items..lots of meat, frozen vegies and canned good. Oh, and TP too
Good for you Marie! I started early to stock up, too.

Oh YES, having enough coffee is utterly essential!
We took a 250mi round trip over the mountains to Costco a few days ago
(Called the day before to make sure they had our Kirkland Columbian coffee)
Got a year's supply
But that's normal here at the cabin
A trip to the closest town with any good shopping is a 100mi round trip
…..and winter, well, it could be a couple months tween trips
So, we keep stocked, cruddy virus or no
Rice, beans, flour, sugar, oil...other stuff for cooking I don't know about.
Plenty of ammo in 22/357/45/243/308, 12/20/410 gauge
...and TP

Still have jerked venison and elk from a year ago
Just ate the last of the bear chili (not all that fond of bear)

Still have two year's wood supply (16 cord)

Summer is rather easy due to roads being clear
Winter? Propane and gas supply is religiously monitored

I have plenty of soap, hand sanitizer, toilet paper, paper towel, kleenex, masks, canned goods, frozen and fresh food.

How about you? What do you find most important to have lots of now?
We had a decent stock of food and necessities before the covid hit us. Since then, after around a month or so, we have had to do some shopping for home and for our upcoming camping trip. We had, and still have enough TP, we did need to buy some more dishsoap in our recent trip to Costco. We did buy two store bought (online) masks and have two homemade ones also. Not too much fresh foods except some tomatoes and plums, but do have a nice amount of frozen foods in the freezer.

We have some canned and dry good in the pantry downstairs in the basement, so we haven't overstocked on anything....but will need to shop again in June for some essentials. Meant to, but never did buy hand sanitzer anywhere, really didn't see it in the stores and didn't try to locate any online.

Sounds good @SeaBreeze . Have you ever tried to make hand sanitizer? I make my own with 2/3 a cup of isopropyl alcohol and 1/3 a cup of aloe vera gel.

So what happens when your neighbor with three young children knocks on the door and informs you that they are starving? Do you share your stash or turn them away?
I doubt the stores would be 100% out of food. There would be something to eat, maybe not your first second or third choice.
If they have no money for groceries then yes share enough only for a few days until they have contacted resources that can help.
And never ever let people you don't know well that you have food stocked up.

Other than things like bread and milk, we probably have enough food in the house to keep us going for several weeks. Both refrigerators are fairly full, the freezer is full, and the canned goods shelves in the basement are also full. That, and yes, plenty of TP.

Don’t have any hand sanitizer but okay on most other items. Don’t know we’re overstocked
on anything but will need coffee next week.

I thought about it Ruth, but after years of sitting on the shelf, I tossed my bottle of aloe vera gel. It was harsh on my sunburned skin and harsh on any skin irritations. I don't mind cutting a leaf from an aloe plant for something, and I regularly have Aloe Vera Inner Fillet juice on hand....but that gel was something I never used. I kicked myself when I saw it was a common ingredient in homemade sanitizer, but wasn't about to bother buying more.

Are you happy with your homemade sanitizer, is it gentle on your hands? Do you bring any with you when you go out?

Anyone remember the show "Extreme Couponing" from a few years back?
Most of them had some pretty significant stockpiles(hoardes),wonder if they helped friends and family during these difficult days?
