What things do you do on automatic?

Very similar, Rosemarie! Caught myself trying to do one thing while I’m thinking about the next thing I intend to do, and then I can’t remember if I did the first thing.

Is your mind blank while you go about your daily routine, or do you do things automatically because you're thinking of something completely unconnected?
This is the case with me. Routine tasks are tiresome so I think about something else. Then I have to go back to check on whether I have actually done anything.
Morning routines I’m usually thinking about what I’m going to wear, (shower) the day/client ahead, planning the work etc. (breakfast, pill taking and the like) My coffee oops is typically just because I’m in a fog having just woken up. I need coffee in order to MAKE coffee. 🤦🏼‍♀️

The rest are what I typically call my “senior moments.” But even those are mostly because I’m always moving at what Ron calls “warp speed” so whatever I’m doing in this moment isn’t my focus. My focus is on what I’m planning to do next, or for the rest of the morning/afternoon/day.

It’s always a struggle for me to stay IN the moment because my mind/heart/brain always leapfrogs ahead.

I try to minimize the need to think. Every Saturday morning I fill my pill minders. They are different times of the day. Two stay on the dining table, one goes next to my recliner and the other is in the medicine cabinet. In the morning I line up washing/shaving things on the side of the wash basin and as I use them I put them away. It works.
