What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Yesterday a local tv channel ran the 1990 released Predator 2, a movie I had only watched when it came out and as a science fiction fan recall enjoying greatly. My second viewing cemented that opinion. I don't normally like overly violent movies and this one is very much so with a lot of red, especially in the beginning with its street gang war. Critics thought it was too violent for the era it was released in. But among sci-fi fans it established Predator as a long term series though there are many that so wanted another dose with Arnold that merits of this second movie didn't otherwise matter. Overall I thought the movie is well balanced with good character development and plot.

Tonight is the final episode of Reacher on Prime so I'll be watching that. I love all Reacher books and have read every one of them. The first season of Reacher on Prime (The Killing Floor) was pretty true to the book, however, this season (Bad Luck and Trouble) is nothing like the book, which has been a little disappointing.

Last night I watched Queen Bee's with Ellen Burstyn and James Caan. It was an entertaining movie and showed that love, at any age, is possible. I always liked Ellen Burstyn, especially in Same Time Next Year with Alan Alda. James Caan was sad to watch. I know we all get old but I was surprised at how old and hunched over he looked. It was his last movie in 2021 before he died in 2022. May he RIP.
I definitely liked the first season of Reacher better than the second. I wish they would make Finlay a regular. Here's a heads up on S3.

'Argyle' at the theatre and hour ago.
How did you like it? It looks interesting from the trailer I saw. But I'll wait until its streaming.

@VintageBetter I've been meaning to check that movie out. A friend had told me about it.

My last movie was Die Hard With A Vengeance. I'd seen it years ago but I don't remember it having all that cursing! I saw it on T.V. back when censorship was a thing, so they must've edited the hell out of the movie. I really like Brucie and the team of him and Samuel L. Jackson worked so well, so dispite all the F bombs (which usually turn me right off), I enjoyed the movie.

The Postcard Killings (NF). I watched because I liked a couple of the actors and most importantly, it was less than 2 hours. Written by James Patterson; that explains why it was mediocre.

I used the laugh emoji because my sister loves James Patterson novels. She has read every single one of his books. But was it mediocre because of his writing or because of the adaptation? I often see where people write that the movie or TV show "wasn't as good as the books". Like you...seeing that a movie is less than 2 hours is a good criteria for me.

I don’t recall reading this book. There were some lines that sounded like they came from a cheesy novel - which it turns out they did.
Oh hell, now I've got to watch it, cheesy or not, if its on one of my streaming services. I love me some Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Also an interesting tidbit. One of the producers is Tracey Edmonds. Don't know if you are familiar with Babyface, a successful, prolific music producer and recording artist. She was married to him. She was a model and they met when she tried out for one of his videos.
She was with Eddie Murphy briefly and has been with football coach and former player, Deion Sanders for several years.

Went and saw THE CHOSEN Episodes 1- 3 with a group of friends at the movies. It was almost 3 1/2 hours long and amazing! The photography was excellent! The music superb! The acting was fantastic! Jesus was mesmerizing. I laughed and cried. I was touched and moved. I have seen many Jesus movies in the past, but this one really touched my heart. It delved deep into the apostle's lives and emotions as well as the scenes with Jesus. The dance by Solome was superb. They had done their research on that time period, including clothing, greetings, culture, etc.

I hope to go see Episodes 4-6 (comes out Feb. 15) and the rest (comes out Feb. 29). Even though it will be available free at some point, I want to show my support. Five stars!

It's a movie that you see in theaters but has episodes?!

Watched Ghostbusters: Afterlife last night. DH, the kids and I were all big fans of the Ghostbuster I & II movies, but had no interest in seeing the reboot (with Melissa McCarthy, Kristin Wiig, et al). DSIL highly recommended Afterlife, so I borrowed the DVD from the library. We quite liked the movie, but LOVED the approximately 30 minute special "Summoning the Spirit: Making Ghostbusters: Afterlife", which was basically a love letter to the original Ghostbuster movies.

If you are now or ever were a Ghostbusters fan, I highly recommend this movie, but do yourself a favor and see it on DVD so you can watch the Making Of feature.

It could happen to you on Netflix. Starring Nicholas Cage and Bridget Fonda and Rosie Perez. I liked it a lot. It's a feel good movie and romantic too. About several people who win the lottery and how they spend it but also about true love.
