What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

Yeah, GF2 really put De Niro on the map, and catapulted him into the top rank.

Duvall was supposed to be in GF3, but they couldn't resolve the salary issue. He would've helped the picture. I think the first 2 were the best-- some of the best films of all time.
Yeah, I didn't care for GF3 at all. Andy Garcia was an annoying prettyboy from what I remember. They've re-released it re-edited, but I don't see how they could make it watchable. GF1 and 2 had good characters. 3? Not so much.

I don't rewatch Citizen Kane. I enjoyed it the one time I saw it in its entirety. It's about one guy.

But I've watched Casablanca more times than I have counted and I get caught up in it every time. It's a story about all of us.
Yeah, Citizen Kane is a whole other ball of wax. It's wildly innovative, risky, and fascinating, and the techniques and cinematography used were widely imitated throughout the 20 Century. Whereas Casablanca was a major wartime melodrama that clicked on all 4 burners.

What you said is true. Also, GF3 was very, very dark and serious. We see Michael finally descend into being mostly a near sociopathic hermit. So the picture didn't have the enjoyable emotional ups and downs that did the first 2.

We watched the Clint Eastwood movie Tightrope this evening. It was okay. Poorly directed, though, if you ask me. It was set in New Orleans and we watched in for Marty Gras, but the city didn't really play much of a role. It could have been set in any big city.

Citizen Kane is among my favorites of the ten best movies of all time, if not even the best, Casablanca is not even among my hundred best movies. I watched Casablanca several times but would not watch it again. It's just a waste of time for me.

*Attempting* to watch “The Hiding Place” from the 80’s I think, about Corrie Ten Boom and her family hiding Jews during WW II and what they went through in the concentration camps for it.

I’ve read the book but Oy vey, it’s rough going watching it acted out. Not sure I’ll make it through but wish I had a 10th of their courage and faith!
