What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

After watching "Christy" I was so impressed with Syndey Sweeney's acting that I wanted to watch something else of hers. So I picked "Reality". This was another fantastic job by her and like "Christy" also told an incredible real life story.

Check out The Housemaid. Sydney Sweeney is great in it, as is Amanda Seyfried. It is a psychological thriller with a great twist.

I watched that several months ago. I thought it was really good. Scared the Hell out of me.

I've seen this one and really enjoyed it.

I'll have to checkout, The Housemaid, @seadoug; I like Amanda Seyfried's work as well.

I saw that a couple years ago. I thought it was very unsettling, enough so that I never watched it a second time.

I agree with what you guys are saying about the scariness of, "Fall." It was fun to watch them dangling I-don't-know-how-freaking-high-up on what looked liked an extremely long tension pole. I did like that.

But the storyline, the relationship between the women and how they came to be where they were felt very predictable to me. 🤷‍♀️

I'm glad you also enjoyed the film too Doc. When I looked it up on Wikipedia and realized just how many Godzilla films there are, I realized I've only scratched the surface! Now I'm going to be trying to find and watch all that I haven't seen. My love of Godzilla stems from seeing those films in the movies and those times being among my happier childhood memories. You nailed it; I feel the same as you regarding your review points that I bolded.
@OneEyedDiva, it's like you read my mind! I've been thinking of trying to watch all of the Godzilla movies, in order, too. I knew there are a lot, but I hadn't realized there are quite so many, so now I'm feeling a little intimidated.

Before I start Gozilla Minus One, I want to watch the original film from 1954. I started it last night but had things to do and wasn't able to sit and read the subtitles. I hope to finish it tonight.

Story line? The relationship between the women? I couldn't tell you anything about that. I just concentrated on the scary stuff. :)

Well...you know what they say..."Great minds think alike" :D You're a bit more ambitious than me however. I won't rewatch the ones I've seen already, but I will have to figure out which ones they are. I saw the American made one twice. It's wild how Wikipedia has the films categorized by eras! Scroll down to Filmography: Godzilla (franchise) - Wikipedia I think you'll really enjoy Godzilla Minus One.

The movie “Stray”2018 …not sure how I feel about this one.
A young man on parole and a woman released from a psychiatric facility struggle to repair their broken pasts in a cold and remote landscape. It was filmed in NewZeland, beautiful country!

I'm about to watch, "Megan 2.0." A sequel to a movie about an AI doll that goes rogue. The first one was fun, light entertainment and that's all I'm hoping for in the sequel.

Lured (1947)

This is an enjoyable late ‘40s crime thriller featuring a dream cast: George Sanders, Lucille Ball, Charles Coburbn, Cedric Hardwicke, and Boris Karloff. Directed by the great Douglas Sirk on a screenplay by Leo Rosten.

The story concerns a serial killer who lures his victims via ads in the personals column, then following their murders sends poems, ala Baudelaire, explaining the purpose of the crimes. That sounds way more gruesome than it is, chiefly because of the era, and also due to several light-hearted and comedic scenes.

This is not one of the greatest crime films but there are several reasons to see it. George Sanders always plays the perfect cad, and it’s fascinating to watch him perform. Lucille Ball is at her loveliest and most charming in a pre- Desi Arnaz role. But it’s worth the price of admission to see Karloff as a kooky, mentally unstable former fashion designer who entices Lucy to join him in a performance to a non existing theater audience.

There are also veteran performances by Charles Coburn and Cedric Hardwicke that remind us why they were so popular and dependable.

The plot and story are slightly weak, but watch this one for the performances.

Available on YouTube.

Doc’s rating: 6/10

Gemini Man - it was OK

Overview
Henry Brogan is an elite 51-year-old assassin who's ready to call it quits after completing his 72nd job. His plans get turned upside down when he becomes the target of a mysterious operative who can seemingly predict his every move. To his horror, Brogan soon learns that the man who's trying to kill him is a younger, faster, cloned version of himself.

I've been debating that one, @Medusa; what did you think? I liked the first one.
This so rarely happens, but I honestly enjoyed the sequel more than the original! And I liked the original.

My only negs are that Allison Williams' acting wasn't great and there was just one fight scene where the use of a stunt double was way too obvious.

Other than the above though, it was a really fun watch and I enjoyed it a lot. I'd watch it again.

Freddie was amazing in concert. I saw him three or four times and he always gave his all. Such a showman. He was gone too soon. Way too soon
Never got to see him live, saw him on the Merve Griffin show, I think it was and he totally mesmerized me. If I had not seen that
I may not have really paid as close attention to them. He was magical in a sense on stage. He sure could play that camera with
his ways.

Kurt Cobain's suicide note said, in part:
"For example, when we’re back stage and the lights go out and the manic roar of the crowds begins, it doesn’t affect me the way in which it did for Freddie Mercury, who seemed to love, relish in the love and adoration from the crowd which is something I totally admire and envy.

The fact is, I can’t fool you, any one of you. It simply isn’t fair to you or me. The worst crime I can think of would be to rip people off by faking it and pretending as if I’m having 100% fun."

I am so jealous! First of @Pepper, seeing the Beatles several times, and now of you, @StarSong, having seen Freddie several times. That must have been amazing. I get chills just watching the Live Aid footage on YouTube. I pull it up every once in awhile.

Who else but Freddie could command a crowd of that many people (i.e., at Wembley, during Live Aid, and at many other concerts as well)? His magnetism shines through loud and clear, even through footage shot more than 40 years ago.
