What Was the Last Movie You Watched?

I saw The Nun last night. It was a bit formulaic but had some good jump scares, and no gore. I hadn't realized it was part of The Conjuring universe. I'll probably watch The Nun II tonight.

We watched The Conjuring: Last Rites a few nights ago. It was pretty good -- not great, but entertaining.
That film has one of the best jump scares I've ever seen; several people in the theater actually screamed, and I literally rose out of my seat a bit. But I agree with your "pretty good -- not great, but entertaining" assessment. I was a bit disappointed.

Speaking of jump scares, here's a pretty good one:
That is a good one! 😮 I just watched that movie a few months ago, around Halloween.

The Nun II was pretty good, too, although I found the last 30 minutes dragged and could have been edited down to a shorter sequence. My mind was starting to wander.

Excellent script.

I kept thinking I might be disappointed if the story took a wrong turn. But it doesn't.
I'll guess that Crawford's character, Harriet Craig, was not too far from the way Crawford was in real life. ICBW, but I recall that she was kind of a bee-itch.

Also available on YouTube for free is this 1936 version (7.2/10 IMDB Rating) starring Rosalind Russell.

An interesting contrast in the way Crawford and Russell play the part. Also a different telling of the story in each case.

Billie (The Good Witch in OZ) Burke plays the next door neighbor.
