What was your favorite band(s) in the past

Early Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd.
Procol Harum with live orchestra most likely I'm most impressed.

Today I mostly listen to youngsters doing YouTube stuff with Acoustic's, pianos and all else. I like the future!
They been at it since they were 10-year-olds, now heading to adult time.

All the above plus Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band, George Thorogood & The Delaware Destroyers, INXS, ZZ Top, Marshall Tucker, 38 Special.

I know I’ve left some out.
I actually shot a game of pool with George Thorogood once, years ago in the Stone Balloon on Main St. in Newark, De. He won.

He's a local boy, and it wasn't unusual for him to show up and just hang out. He got some celebrity treatment, but for the most part, he just blended.

Sadly, the Stone Balloon was razed to the ground (probably 30 years ago) in favor of one of those two story strip malls. Also lost was the State Theater, which showed The Rocky Horror Picture Show every Saturday night.

Have had bands I liked but never a one "favorite". At all times have liked some Classic Rock groups more than others. In 1967 that was The Doors. I have 20 playlists on my computer I run on MP3 players. This is the 39 tune playlist I've played most often in retirement. If you wanna dance with mr dave this is the kind of rock you'll need to move to.

We went to a lot of concerts and listened to a lot of music over the years. I think every weekend we were going to something. I think my fabvorite band was the last one I listened to. My very first concert in 1972 was Led Zelppelin and I haven't been to a better one yet.

No heavy metalll at all...but otherwsie I could make a big list... but I won't...

...Suffice to say I loved 10cc

Bee-gees pre 70's disco stuff

Simon & garfunkel

Motown..everything ....except Stevie Wonder

..and many more..

It seems every time I heard something I really liked and asked my son who is that? It would be Led Zeppelin.

I thought about this, and there was no one band that was my favorite. I'm a child of the 60s, so, of course, I love rock bands. But, as a group, I like Motown artists the best.

Motown, for maybe 10-15 years, the early 60s to the mid-late 70s, was the most fertile time for music (of any genre).

Just one great artist after another.
