What was your favorite band(s) in the past

I've been a Who fanatic since I was 14. My secret useless talent is that I know all of their songs by heart.

At age 22 a friend's boyfriend persuaded me to give the Beatles a try, and I was an instant fan. I'm slavishly devoted to them. 😁

I also love anything from the 50s and 60s, especially doo-wop. I adore 80s music as well.

I've also gone through serious Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Led Zeppelin phases, although I now listen only rarely.

Just one of many super bands from a time before many of those posted above.... I like this.

The Very Thought of You (with the Ray Noble Orchestra)

I kind of side with Fleetwood Mac, but many others. I used to have a bit of a crush on Chrissy, who was a good songwriter. I also like Lindsey Buckingham. I think he is a good songwriter and a better than average guitarist.

Aerosmith
Rush
Tom Petty
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Michael Jackson / Jackson 5
Pat Benetar
Tears for Fears
Osmonds / Donny Osmond

I love all kinds of music!

oooh, I forgot Patsy Cline! <3

so many, too many to list !

and who started it all why Bill Haley and the Comets!! thank you USA
Haley popularised the music:
"Rock Around the Clock" became a massive hit and was featured in the movie: "The Blackboard Jungle," which led to widespread riots and dancing in the aisles, effectively introducing rock and roll to a broader audience.
While Haley helped popularise the genre, other artists like Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Elvis Presley, and Fats Domino also played crucial roles in its development and popularisation.

Before "Rock Around the Clock," Haley and his band, then known as The Saddlemen, were already playing a high-energy style of music that blended jump blues and country. DJ Alan Freed is credited with popularising the term "rock and roll" on his radio show in the early 1950s, further cementing the genre's identity. Although Bill Haley and His Comets popularised rock and roll, they were only a part of a larger musical movement that had been developing for years.
