What were some of your favorite pets you had when you were a youngster?

Seems like I always had a dog. Sally, Raffles and Sammy were three that I can remember.

I raised chickens for a few years. The old homestead had a building we used just for that purpose.

We had three goats. B. Button, Rags and Josephine.

We had a few ducks but they made too much of a mess, so I believe they ended up on dinner table.

Never had birds or cats or reptiles.

Can you remember your pets? :confused:
 

Had a couple of mixed breed dogs as a kid. Our family also had some cats. But I'm not much of a cat person as they make me sneeze. Still a dog person today. My current one is my avatar.
 

I was a cat person growing up (there were many) and as an adult, my children have had dogs of different breeds through the years. I have a cat now that is 15 years old and my beloved dog Bella that I adore.
 
We had German shepherds as guard dogs, and loads of cats to keep down the mice on the very large property, but none of them were permitted in the house.
 
I had one dog as a little boy. His name was Mickey. I forget what breed he was, but he was a small, mostly white with black marks on his ears and face. I think he was an English something or other.
 
I grew up in an apartment, and my family didn't like animals, so the only pets I was allowed to have were goldfish (who always ended up getting flushed), and my brother had a couple of baby turtles. I made up for it when I moved out on my own, now I always have dogs, cats or both. I had an African Grey parrot once that I bought at a pet store, but he was older and not tame, and I had no bird experience. Ended up giving it to a lady who loved him, and had a large aviary in her home.
