What Were We Talking About Before?

My daughter and I were planning a get-together at a restaurant with my nephew and his wife who live outside of Toronto. We always choose a halfway spot to meet, and linger over dinner to catch up on the latest family news.

Lots of conversations about a house I was trying to buy in North Narrowlina. I made an offer, it was countered, I accepted contingent on a good inspection.

I arranged for the inspection; it came back with some problems. I asked for the problems to be remedied; they countered with a lower asking price (not low enough, though). I withdrew my offer.

In retrospective, I'm glad the deal didn't go through. Things are too much up in the air to take that on right now. It was worth the $300 to get out of the deal.

I was talking to my husband about where we might go camping next time, since the area we're used to going is sometimes still snowed in during spring. Lots of good places to get away from people and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, just have to decide where....or play it by ear.

Thanks, I enjoy discussing everything about food, how it tastes, the nutritional value, the calories and carbs. I try to watch those things for health reasons.
We talk about food all the time, good topic, my husband is a great chef and does a lot of the cooking, but recently we've been supporting local restaurants and ordering no-contact delivery or curbside take out.

The car dealer who serviced my wife's car tried to talk me into replacing the two rear tires. They only have 18500 miles on them. Gimme a break!

My sister & I are friends with a couple in their mid 80's. They have a friend who drinks constantly, parties with a bunch of other alcoholic friends at her house (since the bars are closed), then drops in for visits at our friend's house & hugs & kisses everyone.....ya know - one of those friendly drunks who loves everyone.....YUK.
Well, we were trying to convince our friends that it was risky to have her over, so I guess it was an indirect Corona chat.

Par for the course in this economy. And we can expect much worse when we're Coronaless because businesses (including doctors & dentists) will be trying to make up huge losses.

Good for you and the restaurants! I, too, ordered a delivery about a week ago. Pizza of course! Not the most nutritious meal but gotta have it sometimes... :ROFLMAO: 💗..and they do need our business at this time even more.

Before the first lockdown of 2020, we were unpacking as we'd just moved. We took our time to set each rooms as we were painting the walls (which is easier to do before everything is set in place).

The most pressing subject prior to March 2020 lockdown, was the state of my health and my thyroid gland. An appointment was made with GP but was cancelled as it was after the lockdown occurred. I took care of it, with a bit of research and medicine. Gladly, it's fixed...

So, for three years, it was go, go, go. Setting things in place. Updating things. Getting rid of things belonging to son, that had been packed away and moved and then husband's passing and there was more clearing out.

Sadly, there wasn't enough time to discuss much of important things except our to-do list in January 2022. Last year was busy as well, but the Pandemic is pretty much forgotten. Although, we're still on guard but thankfully, daughter and I can finally relax.

I have a neighbor who, at 68, is a drummer in a rock band. Last time we spoke I was asking about his recent gigs.
