And as we age, that attention span continues to decrease. Early dementia and Alzheimer's decreases it further. Instead of anger, respond with sympathy.
It’s different if somebody has a disability but I believe in most of these cases people just have bad manners!

I'd find someone else to talk to who values me more. Sorry if this is making light of your problem, that's not my intention, but rude is rude and walking away like that is just rude. And ignorant.
 

if you were talking to someone and right in mid-sentence they turned away and started talking to someone else or just walked away from you?
I'm used to people turning away & talking to someone else. I finally quit talking. If nobody wants to hear it then why bother? No skin off my a**.
