Around here we have the Jehovah's Witnesses

99% chance thats who it be around here.....
Many years ago I was working nights, and my brother was coming over at some point to have me work on his car.
I get home, crawl in bed to get some sleep....
I awake about 830 to a car pulling in, I get up and head to the bathroom....
Knock at the door... I yell come in....
More knocking.... why did the wife lock the door...
I go to the door and open it up.....
Low and behold.... its NOT my Brother... But 2 ladies Jehovah's Witnesses....
Wish I had a camera... the look on their faces... like they never seen a man in his underwear before....
They start studdering and fumbling with their books...
I said "Excuse me a second".... and closed the door....
I go get a beer and a cigarette... and proceed to go back out on the porch IN MY UNDERWEAR.
And sit down on the porch rail" So how can I help you?"
They NEVER came back to that house....

I'd say it's about time you got here, I called ten minutes ago. That big dog hiding over there has been acting strange, I think he has rabies. .

I talk to everyone. Doesn't bother me at all. I get an insight into what they are talking about.

I love talking to someone trying to solicit my vote.

I don't get that anymore since I moved into an apartment.

I'm polite to people peddling religious views because they perceive themselves as doing a service for others. A simple, "Thank you but I'm not interested." has always been sufficient to send them on their way.

Back when our sons were young,,one let a Witness in while hubby was upstairs dealing with other son.

Hubby comes down stairs ,,looks at the lady ,, says, " I suppose you are one of those censored words Witnesses?"

She left ,,never had any problems with them for long time.

I've had Jehovah's Witnesses come around. I don't mind talking to them. When they start their Bible thumping, I thump right back. One time a young man told me I didn't know as much as I thought I did. We got into a trivia contest. One of his questions was who was the first non-Jewish convert to Christianity mentioned in the Bible. I said it was the Ethiopian charioteer in Acts. He contested this and said it was Cornelius. I pointed out that the Ethiopian was mentioned in Chapetr 8 whereas Cornelius was in Chapetr 10. He whipped out his Bible and flipped through it. He looked up stunned, then said "Boy, you're good." After that they stopped coming.

I'd tell them to go away, but in much more colourful language........and if that didn't work, I'd empty the pee-pot onto them from the bedroom window.
