After a great party on the tenth floor, a bunch of us were leaving. My wife and I crowded into the elevator saying good bys to those still in the hall and the door closed. Moments after we started down the lights went out. The elevator kept moving smoothly and the buttons were still lit just main light gone. There were momentary screeches then it got quiet as on of the guys said it's just the light the elevator is fine. A moment or two later in the dark something touched my crotch. I moved away slightly and it remained. I looked at my wife to see if she had a big grin and she seemed unaware. Then the fingers scratched at the area a bit and were gone. I had a drink or two and was about to speak out and ask who was scratching my balls but these were my wife's coworkers and I had already embarrassed her at the July party. I looked around in the dim light to fine the suspect could barely see forms. As we exited the elevator talking about the scare I looked for a knowing smile from someone but saw none. My wife asked what i was looking for and I just said "Maybe a staff member".
At this point I had some choices.
1. I could tell her what happened and then she could have laughed or gotten angry and the invisible person or angry at me for letting it happen.
2. I could keep quiet.
I was kissed by a classmate at a reunion years ago and let it be a little too long and the wife was mad that I had let it linger so I chose being quiet.
What would you do?
A few weeks later I was hanging out with my brother working in the back yard and told him about it. He laughed in disbelief and I said no really and I do not know who it was. He laughed and said you better hope it was not a guy!
My wife heard that and asked about the conversation. Oh nothing did not convince her, she wanted in on the joke so I told her what had happened. It did not get the laugh that it got from my brother. She went off! First that I did not tell her then, Second that I liked it and wanted to know who was coming on to me at the party. I danced and spoke to several women during the party but never lingered near anyone. there was a little chill in the house for a few days until she spoke with a coworker who was in the elevator and they decided it was Paul"s wife cause she was pretty drunk. Her friend also suggested it was not my fault because it is probably every mans dream and not anything bad on my part.
What do you think ? What would you do? Did I do wrong by not telling her immediately?
This story came about when I read a post that said something about how we ruined a good relationship. This did not ruin our relationship but in the early days I would have sounded off in the elevator for a big laugh. I think my wife laughed at me less as time went on and she thought I should mature with age. She might not have noticed that I was trying. Good news, I did not mature and today I would cause such a hilarious scene as we stepped off the elevator.
Anyway just my thought for the day and as I remember that little incident did make me smile as each company party was mentioned.
