What's for dinner ( or lunch )

I had Sunday lunch courtesy of my kind neighbours... again.....

the man of the house brought it round, accompanied by his youngest daughter age 3... always one or more of the kids come, but today just the little one, who insisted she cooked this herself...lol

On the very large plate is.. Pork chop... mashed potato, Red pepper filled with Sauerkraut... home made pickles... Cauliflower... Belly pork rasher, and Romanian sausages..

Just half hour before I'd had banana on toast because I had no idea they were coming round.... so I could only eat a little of the meal... the rest is in the fridge for tomorrow

they do this often... sometimes it can be twice a week.. other times once a month, I never know when they're going to bring food around...however every time tthey have a party or a BBQ ... they always send a plate around

Love a Paella as long as I don't have to perform an autopsy on the prawns.

Eldest daughter loves them as she can rip the heads off mine and suck the brains out.

today I'm making scalloped potatoes and ham. Will add some swiss cheese to the white sauce and let it cook until it's brown and bubbly. Broccoli and a dinner roll to round out our comfort food for Monday.

I’m making a homemade hamburger helper, not from a box. It freezes well which means I don’t have to eat it all week.

Sounds good! I've been wanting to buy a rotisserie chicken and make chicken salad with it. Have you tried that? I hear it makes a good chicken salad. I never bake a whole chicken anymore. It's just as cheap and cost effective to buy one at the store (preferably Sams Club).

I haven't done that, but they have chicken salad ready made from a rotisserie chicken. It's very expensive, but tasty. If I splurge on one pound, I can make it last three days.

they're my daughters' age.. and in Romania everyone looks after the elders.. and as their parents are both in Romania, and I live alone old enough to be their mother, I feel that's why they do it...

They never brought any around when X husband was here, they started doing it about a year ago...

Tonight I had fish & chips & Peas..... the fish wasn't battered cod or haddock..instead it was Fresh trout Fillet..... and the chips were Roast Potato chips, which are new on the market and literally taste like home made thick chips..(fries)

I bought a whole bunch of groceries today... but I didn't cook any of it for dinner, instead I had one of my batch home cooked minced beef, and veggie frozen dinners which I thawed overnight in the fridge...

My wife is recovering from knee surgery so I have been doing most the cooking.
