What's happening in your town? Police Blotters.

Every now and then, I check out the police blotter for the town/county near where I live. It's an interesting read, lol. It's a case-by-case summary of the calls the police receive.

One person is listed numerous times every week for "Trespass" at WalMart and Safeway. I assume this person has shoplifted in the past and been banned from those stores but keeps showing up, the police are called, and she is told to leave the property, cited for Trespass. Again and again. Must be on first name basis with the LEO's.

Lots and lots of stray dogs picked up and transported to the local pound. Lots and lots of trash dumped near a local park, which is reportedly cleaned up and a couple of days later, another report at the same location. Homeless welfare checks. The same names appear over and over.

If there was no/less homeless population and more responsible dog owners, the police could spend much of their time at a local donut shoppe. Except I don't think we have a donut shoppe. (Tongue in cheek, as I have the greatest respect for our LEO's.)

Have you checked your local police blotter, if one is available? Interesting read (*shakes head*).

I'm gonna go play with the dog.

LOL..I wish we had something like that here.. I'd love to read what's happening....

Mrs jones wrote a naughtty word on twitter...send 6 police officers and a snarling dog...

Mr Smith called his neighour a hurty word... send armed officers, 2 snarling dogs...

Mrs and Mrs gray... were robbed in their home, had a knife held to their throat, and their car stolen.....--- - All police officers take holiday leave !

My home city had a great system you could find out quickly any activity.
The place I live now does not have a good system is days or week behind. We had a car smash into gate of the community I live in knocked over public traffic light and signs so big damage and driver got out then ran away. I saw 6 cop cars to track him down. yet when looking at the badly maintained blotter had zero information of what caused it? was person being chased? ... run from crash because bigger crimes involved?

we will never know because I spent four days looking at blotter ... Nothing

the local rag stopped any and all crime reprts here, several years back...
local wags did not want to see any "negative" news stuff...only eception
is a murder perhaps....and yet the jail is full......
That’s what we had too. You could even see a pattern to the movement of the crimes. Now it’s just the bigger stuff and maybe not even that.

I read the local social media posts to learn what happened.

My City encloses a newsletter with the monthy water bill that shows how many calls to 911 for the month, how many arrests, and other general information like that, but details like those in the OP are not published here.

The annoying thing about not getting local news now, and that includes no local newspaper either any longer .. is we're not forewarned of any crimes, or places or people to avoid etc....

Instead we have to reply on reports from regular people on the neighborurhood app.. or FB..well not everybody uses those..

That might work for apples or bananas, but the thugs band together. Then you have spineless city governments that allow the police to be publically rediculed, offer no bail release to reavl criminals and refuse to stand for and enforce commence authority. I personally believe our law enforcement as well as all first responder deserve two main things 1. legitimate respect from all of us, and 2. government that doesn't pander to thugs and career criminals.
