What's happening with your eyebrows?

When I was younger I was obsessed with eyebrows: always drawing perfectly arched ones, that was my doodling. Maybe it's bc my left eyebrow had/has a scar from when I fell down a flight of stairs at 10 yo,and hit it on a metal toolbox; and my right eyebrow had a mole from which stiff hair grew. I got the latter removed at 16. Now, at 78, the brows are almost gone and I use pencil. Sometimes I still catch myself doodling the perfect Maybelline brow.

get a haircut once a month (short old school burr / buzz cut) and I always get my eyebrows trimmed.....the gal that cuts my hair said that she has asked several older gents, with out of control eyebrows, if they'd like them trimmed and most say no.

I guess men, like women are entitled to stay natural if they wish

I had eyeliner and lipstick permanently applied (tattooed) about 15 years ago. The lipstick has faded and the eyeliner is okay, it could use a touch up but no thanks.

I don't care anymore. Rarely wear makeup anymore, maybe once a year?
I had the eyeliner done too about 15 or 20 years ago. It is still there and I still like it. It has faded a bit over time and looks softer. I am afraid to have eyebrows done though.

I use drop of vitamin e oil at night, and brush them the way I want them to go, up and out with stiff eyebrow brush and trim any that have lost their way.

Before I do my makeup, if I do any, I apply a small bit of eye cream around my eyes and on my eyebrows, I let the cream soak in and pretty much dry and brush them out and up and then I take a angled short stiff (1/8" -1/4") brush and apply a taupe-ish eyebrow color or powder eye shadow of a shade that looks good, but not dark. I don't go dark, as I am blonde/some very white greys mixed in, as too dark and contrasting makes me look stark and older IMO. Pale older skin looks bad with very dark shades of hair or eyebrows IMO.
Try kelp for the iodine content. Could be a thyroid problem.
When I first read your post I thought you meant to put kelp on our eyebrows... to help them behave and grow 🤦‍♀️ 😂🤣
i never remember people needing to draw on their eyebrows. what is up with that?
i worked with a woman once who forgot to draw in her eyebrows and it was the oddest look. there definitely was something missing in her expressions.
Once a woman hits 70...these days, most Boomer women plucked their eyebrows in the 60s - 70s? and now the follicles are dead, so no eyebrows and the ones that are left behind are sparse and or acting wiry?

Eyebrows? Have never ever dyed my 76 year old, fine, light brown hair that has some grays. A small crop from a August 25, 2024 a6700 full head photo squinting a bit in the bright light I was looking towards, so recent. Noticed my eyebrows have one whitish gray hairs above each eye.

Such pretty blue eyes you have! My DH has one grey eyebrow, the whole eyebrow and the other one is mostly blonde still. But they are unruly, too.

Mine are disappearing quickly as I keep pulling out the very long white ones now.

I've been using eyebrow color and pencil to fill the rest in but if I live long enough will I have any left?

What do you do? 🤔
I was told that if you repeatedly pull out the white ones, those follicles will eventually die.

I have white eyebrow hairs and some longer, curly, wild ones, but I just keep my eyebrows neat and uniform length by going over them with my electric razor with the quarter-inch attachment on it. A lot of the white ones are darker at the root, so my eyebrows actually look a little darker overall after I do that.

Maybe if you do this, you won't get bare spots.

You can buy eyebrow tint just about anywhere, Amazon, Wmart. Just trim the long ones and tint your brows.

When I still had enough to tint them I just used L'Oreal Excellence. A drop or two of the color and the activator, mix with q-tip and apply. Seal what is left over. One package would last over a year and was a heck of a lot cheaper than other pdts. that do the same thing.

I would advise to spot test first, but I never had a problem and I could get my specific hair color.

I was never into plucking my eyebrows when I was younger. The fashion of the day was like Sophia Loren or Elizabeth Taylor, now my brows
are thinner but still looking good. My cousin had Her's tattooed, but they overdid it because she has a permanent surprised look on her face.

I have an eyebrow update! 😂
This post got me thinking….
I noticed that my eyebrows were getting thinner and thinner because of this post and I realized that I have been plucking my brows since I was sixteen years old!
I didn’t even know what my natural brows look like!
I decided not to touch them with the tweezers and find out.
Not only that, but I tried a brow growth serum called Grande Brows. It’s expensive but I decided to throw caution to the wind and go for it.
I have to tell you…. my brows are downright wooly!!!! I could pass for Groucho Marx right now!😂 They’re about 3 x as thick as they were!

That sounds good compared to having no eyebrows. Grande Brow. I'm going to see if Amazon has it and the price.
