What's in your Home Disaster kit

When I would check our emergency food stash back when our youngest
was still living in the house, noticed certain things missing.
The missing items were MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat) I get from the base commissary.
(He knew better than to get into MOM's emergency Chocolate stash!)

I didn't ask him, just remembered back when I was a teen and would eat just about anything.
Switched to buying a case lot instead of individual meals and he wouldn't open the case up.
Figured he'd eat the Really bad tasting ones that came in the case, if/when a situation happened.

Same kid that thought 'Cheetos' were the best thing ever invented...

This is just one of two food shelves.
Then for alternative cooking.

Not much. Since Covid I tend to keep a small supply of tinned and non-perishable food but, that is more with the idea of having extra emergency supplies should a similar thing happen. I bought some battery powered lights a few years ago but have only had to use them once, useful to have though.

When Covid hit, the thing which people seemed to hoard more than anything else was toilet rolls! After Covid, I heard that people were trying to return large stocks of toilet rolls to the shop they bought them from and the shops said "No thanks".
Love it! (y)

I got a bidet attachment for my toilet so I didn't need toilet paper

Before a hurricane, I will always fill 5 or 6 five gallon buckets with water - for commode use. And as a result of the Covid mess, we keep a pretty good supply of toilet paper and the like.

I don't really have a disaster kit. I have things that could be used in a disaster, but they are all spread out in my home and in my shed. My major concern is medication. Yeah, I could hunt possums, and grow corn, but what do I do for diabetic medication?
