What's pleased you today? Don't even think about whinging here.

One arm of my 4+ year old glasses slipped out of its hole. I have no vision insurance but somehow my UHC Plan G got me 30% off glasses at a store, America's Best.

One pair single vision with night glare reduction and one pair sunglasses ordered at $118.

As a side note I was able to wrap a Band-Aid ultra hold around the existing glasses arm so I'll be looking like that geek kid in high school for a week.

Here's what pleased me today:
~My son picked up kidney beans, chic peas and grape jam from Walmart for me. This means I can make chili or chic pea soup this week.
~My oldest grandson and I had a nice conversation this evening.
~For the first time ever I have Friendly's mini fudge sundaes, Haagen Daz Raspberry-Lemon sorbet and Healthy Choice fudge bars in the house at the same time. I'm in dessert heaven! 😛
~My dinner is easy...the rest of the salad from Just Salad. I'll add chopped egg and pickled beets to it.
~Dishwasher is loaded and my kitchen is cleaned up.
~I've been listening and dancing to the 🔥🔥 version of a song I had my son remove annoying vocals from.

It is still early but so far I just finished a large batch of oatmeal which will be our breakfast through the end of the week and weekend at least. Looked outside earlier and saw the rain was still coming down but not as heavy as it has been the last couple days. Google says it will continue tapering off through 11 a.m. and then stop altogether by 3 p.m. The weeds almost jump out of the ground after a rain: today's the day.

Yah! I received my Skin So Soft Bonus-Size Original Bath Oil 24.6 oz. today.
The box it came in looked like someone played football with it, I was a little concerned.
However, the product is in good condition and it smells sooo good.
Look out mosquitos.
💃

It occurred to me an hour or so ago that I engage in too much negative thinking, which is part of why I've been having trouble sleeping. Negative thinking begets more negative thinking due to neural plasticity. The parts of the brain we use most grow and the parts we don't use, atrophy. But we can control that to some extent by making a deliberate effort to think more positive thoughts.

So I'm going to try to stop whining so much and think more positive thoughts instead.

Agreed. Awesome attitude.
I have found affirmations useful for this.

Met with my Cardiologist yesterday. First in person appointment in a year. I was in hospital for over 7 months in the past year. He says that my heart function is as close to normal as a 79 year old should be. He made a small adjustment to the dosage of one of my meds, faxed the new script to our pharmacy, and said "Come and see me in 6 months ". My wife went and picked up the new script today. JIMB>

That is odd @hollydolly that the Skin So Soft does not work fo you.
I have been using it for years. Bugs will not come near me when I wear it.
You must have some powerful mosquitoes where you live or they are immune to it.
Mega mosquitoes.
