The best advice that I ever had was when my Sgt. asked for a volunteer to be the first to be hit with a Taser. My best friend on the force told me not to do it. I didn’t take his advice, but I should have. I never felt anything like that or near that in my life. I was told that I was hit with 40,000 volts, just under the 50,000 maximum.
You, or in this case, I was frozen stiff. Not cold, just could not move anything. I was completely incapacitated. I was mostly aware of what was going on around me and we did have paramedics on standby, just in case my heart stopped or I swallowed my tongue, but none of that happened.
I have never been shot, just shot at, but given the choice, I think being shot, not killed, would be less brutal. The only after affects that I suffered were headaches and some confusion for a few days.
