What's the oldest thing you have in your house ?

The oldest thing in our home would be a piano. A great aunt of my Mother's was a concert pianist in the early 1900's. About 1925 she fell, broke her wrist, and that ended her playing career. My Granddad got a call saying that if he could arrange transportation, she would give them the piano for my Mother to learn on. Cost $35 back then to have the piano trucked to my grandfolks home. Lots of money for a dirt poor farmer. The piano dates back to 1895. Has the metal sounding board and weighs a ton. It is a beautiful piece of furniture, with much engraving. Has all the ivory. Neither my wife or I play and it just sits here collecting dust.

I have a photo of my aunt standing in front of her car. The license plate is dated 1917. I printed the 8x10 back in 1950, I was 16.
We also have a book, copyright 1883 that was my grandmothers. I have my mother's HS science book from 1919.
Newer is a book on aviation that I got for Christmas in 1940, my father knew the author who signed it for me.
My fathers straight razor is from the 1920s.

Have/had a lifetime of National Geographic Magazines, back to 1888 when they originated. They are my husband's father's collection and are all bound in leather. ...they've gone to my son's house.

Hello Toomuchstuff, when we bought the old log cabin back in the 80's, it had been deserted for over twenty years. We spent our time refurbishing the place for many years. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but the inside does shine.

I have a big chunk of petrified wood that I'm pretty sure is a tad older than me.........I should only be that well-preserved.

Other than that, I guess it would be an 1864 postage stamp still on the envelope. The envelope has more wrinkles than I do, so I'm pretty pleased about that.
