What's your version of total relaxation?

If you do go, visit first in the bad season. Stay away from condos...way bad for all kinds of reasons. Do a lot of investigating first and don't be afraid to ask tons of questions. Stay away from Ocean City, md by all means.

Another good place to try is Lewes, De. It's on the ocean and has all the chic anybody might want. It also has people. It's also very espensive. I also had a place there for 2 yrs but did not like all the people.

Thank you and yes no way going with condo or any HOA .

As you know more and more retirees now going there and result is prices going up yearly .

There is almost no place to go unless you are very wealthy these days. I never paid a condo fee or the like. The prices a a bit less if you go inland a bit but I cannot settle for that. I need the water nearby. Always have since I was a kid.

Recently I found a place in Quoddy, maine. Look it up, while the weather may not please you, it is a beautiful place right on the ocean. However, there is almost no place to live there. I have been to Maine many times and love it. I guss I could live thee now if I found the right place. A really beautiful place in Maine is up north in and near the town of Rangely or Eustis. No real water tho and prices are worse than the ocean.

Sadly regardless I am going to complain , have issues BUT shun the snow / ice and of course N.C is not Miami weather wise but as a whole type winter I can deal with , Maine I know lovely but Winters to rough .

I retired from Albany loved it but fled the Winter .
 

Total relaxation for me means sinking into the vortex of a lounge chair on a Caribbean beach, sipping a tall cool Piña Colaaaahda, and listening to the sound of distant steel kettle drums. Bliss...
