When can EMT's eneter your home?

True, the bottom line, if there is an actual dispute of law, it will boil down to if the Entry (Search) was "Reasonable", if there was an entry that is.
On one of my welfare checks, I tried to get an answer at the door, but no one responded. I noticed 2 vehicles in the driveway, but no mail in the mailbox. After checking all the doors and windows for locks and finding no attempted entries, I started looking in the windows and on my third window, I could see a body lying on the floor. I immediately made entry through the back door of the old farmhouse.

The female was found unconscious, so I called for emergency services. According to the EMT, her opinion was that she had a stroke, but was still breathing. She was transported to the nearest hospital where she did recover, but with a few debilitating issues.

This is an example of a time when LE is permitted to make entry without a warrant.

Since that initial time waiting for the EMTs, there a couple more times I had to call them, and I made sure they knew the door is open. I live out in the sticks, and my development is kind of hidden, so I keep my door unlock 24/7. I figure the odds of getting murdered by a roving gang of bikers is way less than the odds of me needing an ambulance, so my doors are unlocked. At first that bothered me, but now, years later, no bikers, so........
