When do you put away all those Christmas and New Years decorations?

I used to decoration the house with all kinds of Xmas decorations. But since I live a lone, I just have a few. It's fun decorating the p[lace, yet it isn't so much fun putting everything back into its proper box. It takes a while. When do you put away all those Christmas and New Years decorations? Right after New Years, or way much later?

Yesterday the tree got taken down and put outside for animals to hide in before we burn it.
We also took our old corner cabinet and burned it.
It had started rotting.

Our outside lights are still on though.

It marks the end of my favorite time of year. So, I'm reluctant to put the Christmas decorations away. I usually go along with the boss, when she decides it's time. She's usually the one that decides when the decorations come out, so she should decide when they get put away. Bottom line is, Christmas 🎄 is always in my heart 💝. Don...

I still have my little tree up. Going to turn it on for tonight. There is a switch on it to make it light up and turn; it's quite pretty. I'll probably put it back in storage next week.

I have friends, who claim to be Eastern Orthodox Christians, who celebrate Xmas a few weeks later than Roman Catholics, as Camper6 noted. But that was bull. It was so they could buy their Xmas presents at "clearance" after Xmas prices.

It's an advantage but the new generation celebrates both. The second one is more of a religious celebration.

I put out a few decorations and enjoy having them around for a couple of weeks but took them down on Sunday leaving the place all clean and tidy, nice to get back to normal and get on with the new year :)

Here where I live, burning stuff outside will get you a big FAT fine and maybe a bit of time as a guest of the county. Fires are a big threat here because we are so dry.

That’s another thing I love about where we live. We can have outdoor fires to burn our leaves and anything else but quite often in the summer there are fire bans due to the dryness

I love to decorate my house and hubby does outside. We have no family here and this year we did not have a party. Still did my decorations. We go to GA for the holiday. I have taken everything down. It is upstairs EVERYWHERE. Waiting for me to tackle it. I will take some to the goodwill and repack the rest with moving in mind. Back to GA.

We're just taking down the decorations now. Hubby had a cold after Christmas so we delayed, then we went camping for nearly a week, and now it's time to buckle down.

A few years ago we pared down our decoration collection by a goodly amount and I'm sorely tempted to do so again. However, patience being a virtue, I'll wait a bit because at least one (and perhaps both) of my sons intends to buy a house this year. Between Halloween & Christmas we can have an evening where our unwanted decorations get put up for grabs. We'll donate whatever our 3 kids decline.
