When Do You Take Down Your Christmas Decorations?

Well when I can't usually be bothered before the 12th night usually because there's always so much... but this year we didn't get the Big Decs and tree down from the loft.. instead we just hung all the waterfall lights on the windows, and put candles all around the room and on the fireplace,. As we haven't had a traditional Chritmas this year the lights at least have cheered us all up, and as it will just take about an hour to take them all down again, I'll probably take them down New Years Day .

I decorate early December because Christmas is my favorite time of the year!! But once the day is over, I’m more than ready to return the house to normal. I’m actually thrilled that Christmas was on a Friday this year because it means I can get everything broken down and put away today, the day after Christmas!!!

Asked my Significant Other if I could take down the tree today - she wants to wait until new years day or day after that. Since it is her house, I'll leave it up til then.

(I put it up the day after Thanksgiving)

I used to take it all down in stages - everything Santa-related got put away day after Christmas, wreathes and other "decking" went away about a week later. the lights around the house came down about mid-January and the tree soon after. But this year I only have the tree and a wreath and I'll take them down when I feel like it. Probably in a week or 2.

Usually I wait till the day before New Years Day as it means a fresh start to a brand new year. Was thinking of doing it today and get it over and done with.

What about you?
I just plug in a small ceramic Christmas tree, and surround it by the cards I get that year....no other decorations. I take everything down after New Year's Day.

The 6th of January, always.

This Christmas, we did not put up a Christmas tree but rather, decorated with the collection of decorative trees that I have collected.
