When Rules Overtake Common Sense - Girl Wets Airplane Seat, Toilet Not Allowed

This three year old girl had been denied permission to use the toilet while a Jet Blue flight was on the ground awaiting to take off. There are regulations set by the FAA, because the plane may move suddenly and cause someone to be injured.

I think the stewardess could have checked with the pilot to see how much time they were really expected to wait before the plane moved, and the girl could have been escorted to use the toilet. Honestly, if I was traveling by plane with my 3 year old, I'd put a pair of 'pull-ups' on her for such emergencies.

It seems like people are so sue-crazy, that they just keep putting more and more rules in place to protect themselves against lawsuits. People dealing directly with the situation are afraid to make a judgment call and use common sense to handle the matter at hand. What do you think? http://www.usatoday.com/story/today...rinated-in-seat-during-ground-delay/10572277/

What came to mind when I heard this on the news, was that as a mother of a Toddler , the Mom should have prepared for a situation like this. What if they were in the middle of a flight and the Bathrooms were occupied.
I know if I had a Toddler I would have put my child in a pull up for the flight. As far as suing goes too many people are ready to jump on the sue bus.

What Sassy said....that Mom is an idiot for not preparing to travel with kids and have everythibg handy.

I agree, my neighbor has a 2 1/2 yr. old who's still in diapers, why would a 3 year old have such control in those conditions. Even if an adult had to use the facilities in that situation, I would say check with the co-pilot on the time involved, and give that person permission.
