The girls all went ga-ga over me in Grades 5 and 6 for some reason. Then I moved cities and was a nobody in my new school. I was okay with that as I was a very shy teenager.

I can relate to the shyness. Junior high was a challenge for me.

Yup, that's me, too. I looked like an 8 year old on my first day of boot camp. It seemed that everybody's dad was in WWII, so that 's the hair cut you got.

I thought it was influenced by The Beatles popularity. I always wanted to push that hair out of their eyes.

"Bowl" cuts worked well for some women's face shapes. Those even persisted into the first years of the 1980s.

When I got engaged in 1980 her brothers dragged me down to their favorite barbershop. I haven't had long hair since. It soon began to abandon ship anyway in just a few more years.

I must have had some kind of flat top or crew cut into my early teens('64-'66) as I vividly remember using Butch Wax. When I look back, it was like putting pink wheel bearing grease in my hair...on purpose! Would take 50 gals of hot water and all kinds of detergent to wash it out.
In the '70s I welcomed the "dry look" and stayed with it since then.

The Spousal Equivalent showed me a picture of him in the 1960's with some hairstyle called the "Jelly Roll".

There were some pretty funny hairstyles back then.....boys AND girls.

I was never like that..but I did have very long hair.
