When the cops are right I support them...not these jerks

Unbelievable! I have to say the smart thing would have been to pull over immediately, and perhaps they would've had a police escort to the hospital...at least that is the story I'm used to hearing over the years.

But....even though he gave them a little chase at first, once they saw the situation, they should have given him a citation at the most, due to the circumstances. That part about getting rid of the video and tasing really ticks me off, too much of that crap going on these days and finally coming to light.

Thank goodness the good cops outnumber the bad, I feel so sorry for that lady and her husband.

Oh my gosh!!!! I can't believe it! Bad enough that they arrested him like that (1 AM after all!!) but that they'd casually talk about tazing him after he was on the ground and....... Just too unbelievable. I had to find it on another site (terrible internet access here) and it didn't say anything about an investigation or anything. Will anything follow on this I wonder?

The officer probably did everything according to his department's protocol, except what his actions where after the word "Tazer" was mentioned.

We (state police), however, do not operate in this manner. However, if the man would have made the phone call first, he would have saved everyone a lot of grief, I am sure. It is common knowledge that when people are acting on high level stress, their thinking goes out the door, so the police must think for them. I am of the opinion that the reason he was being pulled over was for speeding or reckless driving? Once the young fellow identified his issue, he should have been allowed to reenter the vehicle and ordered to drive to the nearest hospital with the officer in pursuit with lights and siren on. The officer would have called his dispatcher requesting backup and also to alert the hospital. When backup arrived, one officer would have taken the lead while the second officer would have been the trail. Once at the hospital, they (the people inside the vehicle) would have been instructed to allow the female to exit and the male to stay in the vehicle with his hands on top of the steering wheel. Once the female would have been inside, the male would have been dealt with and then released. This is all according to our method of this type of situation.

I, too, get tired of trying to defend police officers that take it upon themselves to be the one in control using their own methods. It usually ends up bad. Just look at this mess.

In late 50's and early 60's I did photojournalism in San Diego. I covered night's and weekends. As such I spent much time with both police and firefighters. Cops used to call guys like these "hotdogs".

There seems to be more to this story..then insideedition.

Where's the news media story???
I typed this into google: "woman in labor husband taken to jail during traffic stop" and found dozens of sources. Try it, you'll like it!
