Knew someone who often said..."When the rubber meets the road"..

and continuously wondered EXACTLY what that meant...🤔

Doesn't it always?🙄

Care to offer your "thoughts" on this! 🤗

"Let's get down to brass tacks" ? The 'nitty-gritty'. The truth(as known or thought to be) of the matter.

To sum up and or finalize .

When the rubber meets the road, this is what must be done.

No more opinions, just this is what happens, this is the reality ....

@GG, yes,. I may have remembered 🤔 wrong!

where the important facts or realities lie;
where theory is put into practice
—originated in the jargon of the advertising business, in which ‘let’s get down (to) where the rubber meets the road’ meant ‘how much is it going to cost?’"

I don't now where it came from, but for me it me means

This is really bad, get ready to find a way to handle it, get ready to be strong, be ready to deal with what ever comes your way, get ready to give this your entire focus.

When push comes to shove.
What commitment means
What marriage means
What being a parent means

There maybe many others, being the strong, loving, kind, generous, hard working person we all want to be.
