When was the last time an instrumental was in the top 100?

Yeah, Herb Alpert had a boatload of very listenable hits. One of my favorites was "Taste of Honey" (1965). It had a nice driving bass line.

A collection of their most popular hits was one of the first LPs I bought they wasn’t by the Beatles.

I remember when that came out. I have to listen to it again and pay more attention to the bass line. It charted at #7 that year.

The song is basically a tango, although one could rhumba to it as well.

My dad did not really enjoy dancing, but because he got exercise out of it and mom enjoyed it, he did it. I think dad would have done most anything for mom.

In the 60s, 70s there were lots of instrumentals like," Wipe Out," "Theme From a Summer Place", "Tequilla", "Green Onions", "Grazing In the Grass" etc.
When was the last time an instrumental was in the top 100?

Oh I love "Theme from a Summer Place." it is a piece of music that transforms me back to my being a child on the beach. I think I will find it on youtube and play it now!
