When was the.last.time?...

There's not one within 75 miles of me. I order online now so it has probably been about 13 years.

My brother would go into a bookstore and would emerge hours later. It got so bad people stopped wanting to go with him. The last one I was in had a nice restaurant incorporated in it. Lots of old dusty books, some expensive first editions. Brother tagged along and I ended up spending the day. I didn't buy anything, I can't read paper books anymore, I need my iPad versions.

Within the last 10 days. The bookstore in is our nearby small city (50-minute drive of our home). It's also one block from the public library. I like to read. So I browse in both places. I buy a book when I find one interesting to me. I sometimes borrow a book from the library, though maybe I more often read some passages in a book or two while I'm there.

Actually, I go to the bookstore every time I go to the mall. To be honest, I don't go to the mall often, but when I do, the best place to park is outside the bookstore, so I enter there. They have the best bathrooms in the mall there, too.....LOL.

I do enjoy wandering around and looking at not just the books but the merchandise. I seldom purchase anything, though, because #1, it's too expensive and #2, I get my books from the library, both to borrow and to buy from the big used bookstore there where the books at $1 at most and usually 25 cents. I can hold off on reading a new best-seller until it's available at the library.

I really like big used bookstores. There was one in Detroit that was about four stories high and you'd swear it was haunted, and if you couldn't find what vintage book you were looking for there, you couldn't find it anywhere. And, of course, Powell's bookstore in Portland, OR was always a trip to paradise.

Last year to sell a bunch of books. The book hoard is getting smaller. The house hoard still needs some work.

I collect vintage cookbooks and old history books and other old books so I have plenty to read. :D
