When you can't find something in store

Here's my gripe of the day, mostly about Home Depot. I would be willing to swear that their employees are trained to avoid helping customers. There are always plenty of them roaming around, but as soon as I start to approach one of them, they abruptly do a sharp turn and go in the other direction. I have seen much more of their backs than their fronts! This can't be happening by sheer chance, every single time! I've gotten pretty good at yelling, nice and loud, "EXCUSE ME?" Then, they usually turn around.
Yeah, most every time at HD.
One time a gaggle of employees were heading down a main isle, toward the break room.
I needed help
Asked for it
They said they were late...to a meeting
I asked if the meeting was possibly about customer service

That evening I fired off a letter to the regional headquarters

Got a very nice, real letter back

Felt rather food about that

How much do they charge you to deliver there in the UK? Just curious. I don't need it yet, prefer to shop in person, but the time will come . . .

it all depends pvc....who you order from....most of mine , you order so much , then no charge....some charge ...but its always beneficial for me , as i cant get out to the stores..

ive used asda for 10yrs....and its normally 3 pound a week delivery , but i get a yearly pass, which is 24 pound.so well worth looking into it ......hope that helps ...

I was at Walmart in the wine aisle looking for some cheap peanuts and leaned on the shelf to steady myself and a bottle of wine fell and broke. I looked around and an employee was looking my way and I said, ''clean up needed down here,'' he slowly walked over and I said, ''I didn't touch it ,'' and he said, ''sure,'' and got on his radio and ask for a clean up. I left and did not look back, but back to the point, one time I ask this this kid for help and he replied, ''I'm on break.'' 99.9999 percent of time they go out of their way to help.

I must have better luck. The clerks in my town will tell you exactly which aisle, or they'll take you there themselves.

One store Canadian Tire which is a misnomer, they sell everything.
They have a computer screen with keyboard. You can do a search and it will give you the location and shelf.

I tried it and it works. They even tell you if another store has it in case this one is sold out.

I have posted before about the Walmart in Friendswood. If you cannot find something they will take you to it. I will just ask for the aisle # but they insist on taking me to it. I always mention their name when I do the customer survey afterwards.

The local Tesco in town is small and hit and miss with stock but customer service is good and the staff are very good especially at the checkouts. A couple have been awared loyalty badges for length od service.

Lucky me! I'm at the age where I sort have it all and/or don't want anything anymore. Moving is great because you get rid of "stuff". Now that Christmas season approaches & the stores play that awful Christmas music I stay away from them like they were the plague. Nothing like a good book from the library & some light classic music in the background.

Have you had the experience of holding the item in your hand at the cash register and the cashier saying, "I can't sell that to you, it's not in the computer system"? I have ! Helllllooooo? This is progress??

I know what you mean. I was buying panties at Marshalls and found a beautiful 3 pack except one was missing. I asked the clerk how much they would charge me for the 2 that were there? She said "Oh they won't sell them to you at all unless you find the missing pair." They used to give you a deal, but apparently not anymore. So I went to checkout and didn't say a word and bought two lovely pairs for the price of three. Rules were made to be broken.
