As it turns out, hammerheads are one species of shark that is not a threat to humans. As is the tiger, bull, and great white.I flew the B-747 and 767 from O’Hare to Honolulu for 2 years. That 8 hour flight is longer than I expected. The only good part was we would get an 8-12 hour layover before the return flight. Every now and then, we would get a 15 hour layover
My favorite part of Oahu was always going out to Pearl Harbir. My favorite part of the island of Kauai was the golfing along the ocean and the smell of the flowers. I tried surfing a few times, but once I saw a Hammerhead shark approaching me, I swore never to go back into surf.
On Oahu, they have a place you can rent a surfboard and 1 or 2 hour lessons. The first time I went out, my instructor was 72 years old.

This evoked a lovely memory for me. In 2003, we went on a hawaiian cruise for our honeymoon. We also scheduled a helicopter tour on Kauai, and the parking lot was full of chickens. My wife promptly named one in particular "Henrietta" (pun intended), and she (Henrietta) tried to get back on the tour bus with us. Thank you.The fact that my daughter is going there for a month January 3 and I'm not going with her!!! We went a few years back to Kauai and The Big Island. Had such a lovely time. Hah! I had a baby one jump right on my shoe while I was sitting at a picnic table. We became good friends. This evoked a lovely memory for me. In 2003, we went on a hawaiian cruise for our honeymoon. Sounds like you had a wonderful time, being close to nature. I visited there years ago and loved it.Memories of living there way back when...the smell of gardenias, rides in a jeep to Koko Head and Diamond Head, sugar cane, going to downtown Honolulu every other Saturday with my dad when he went to voice lessons (my older brother went the Saturdays in between), milk and meat rationing (we had powdered milk, powdered eggs andSpam
, a lot of Spam), bath houses in between every two rows of quonset huts. We lived in a quonset hut, no indoor plumbing just showers, toilets, laundry tubs in the bath houses. We carried water in buckets from the bath house to the kitchen, gigging crawdads in the creek at the park.
Memories.
LOL There's plenty of nature to enjoy in British Columbia, I can tell you.Sounds like you had a wonderful time, being close to nature. I visited there years ago and loved it.
