When your child is eligible for AARP membership...

My daughter is 51 years old. She called me yesterday to tell me she was on her way to a Cindy Lauper concert. I burst out laughing! Is she still alive? And performing? Wow! That would be like me going to see the Beach Boys.

She texted me when she arrived at the venue and said she thinks everybody there was probably an AARP member. I texted her back and said, "Girls just wanna have... social security." Her response was, "Medicare". Seems she is slowing down and having aches and pains. I told her just wait another 20 years. She is a very successful career woman and waited till very late to have children. Now, at her age, she has two children in elementary school. I tried to warn her back then...

I'm still laughing.

"Girl's just wanna have Social Security" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: Yeah...Cyndi is still alive and IMO she looks better now than when she was younger. My son was eligible for AARP seven years ago and if I recall correctly, he was looking forward to joining. :)

What benefits do you get for joining of AARP? I know they give you a welcome gift such as a first aid kit.

i really don't see any benefit of joining AARP other than the publications they send you every few months. They are informative on some issues. I think you can get 10% discounts somewhere, but i never mentioned it because i didn't want to admit i am old enough.
