When your child is eligible for AARP membership...

My daughter is 51 years old. She called me yesterday to tell me she was on her way to a Cindy Lauper concert. I burst out laughing! Is she still alive? And performing? Wow! That would be like me going to see the Beach Boys.

She texted me when she arrived at the venue and said she thinks everybody there was probably an AARP member. I texted her back and said, "Girls just wanna have... social security." Her response was, "Medicare". Seems she is slowing down and having aches and pains. I told her just wait another 20 years. She is a very successful career woman and waited till very late to have children. Now, at her age, she has two children in elementary school. I tried to warn her back then...

I'm still laughing.

What benefits do you get for joining of AARP? I know they give you a welcome gift such as a first aid kit.

I CHATTED WITH MY YOUNGER SISTER A FEW DAYS AGO, SHE SAID HER DAUGHTER, WHOM SHE LIVES NEAR, JUST TURNED
60YO AND THAT SHE HAS WORKED AT WALGREENS CORPORATE FOR 20 YRS....WOW, NOW THAT MADE ME FEEL
VERY ANCIENT!!!RECALL WHEN I PLAYED WITH HER AS A TODDLER....

At one time I had traditional Medicare and a Medicare supplement. It was a requirement that I belong to AARP to get the particular supplement I had at that time. After I switched to a Medicare Advantage plan, I cancelled my AARP membership.

I have a feeling it's going to hit me hard when my daughter hits AARP age. Thankfully, there's quite a way to go before that., and a bunch of years. 😊
