When you're in the mood to be entertained, what do you do?

Do not think it funny that a young child, or even young teen, was offered and used pot. This is very wrong. I warned my son I would always know if he were high, so he better not, until college age. I have very strong feelings against children using drugs. What your brother did was not right and I ain't laughing.
most teenagers smoke pot now pepper.........they say it less harmful, than those vapour wands .....

Yep, that's true. In fact, the stuff on my streets can be deadly.

My bro knows I'm a lightweight, I've gotten stoned only a handful of times my whole life, so he brought what he thought I could handle.

Wrong.
i remember being offered a joint in the circle we sat around...( Not knowing it was drugs) i puffed , didnt like it....automatically threw it in the fireplace and got my packet of normal cigarette's out , and proceeded to offer everyone one.....
the looks, i got, WELL.....You would of thought i had murdered someone ...o_O:eek:

Remember when all you needed to watch TV was a set of rabbit ears? My father used to experiment with a piece of plywood covered with aluminum foil, out on the porch. I also remember using wires and coat hangers. Those days are gone.
NorthernLight...In the USA the major networks still transmit TV signals that can be picked up on antenna and/or 'Rabbit Ears (over the airways).

They do that so people who cannot afford cable or satellite TV can still get the primary networks. It is required by law in the USA so that all people have access to public television and the primary networks, for civil defense and the like. People still use antenna in their attics or Rabbit Ears. Many Americans don't know this and go without TV because then just don't know.

Does Canada not also continue to broadcast over the airways?

Thank you. I always assumed not. Many years ago, people talked about having no choice but to switch to cable (or satellite).

The CBC is our public broadcasting network. I did a search for CBC TV antennas, and found the following on Wikipedia. My town is on the "list."

"This is a list of former CBC/SRC television transmitters across Canada that were used by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Due to budget cuts, the CBC decommissioned its 620 over-the-air analogue television transmission network on July 31, 2012."

Of course, there are ways to stream or download TV (and movies) on my phone, but then we're back where we started. I had thought of getting a projector to hook up to my phone, but I haven't done it (yet).

Well, I should have known that you had already considered all other possibilities. I am sorry that Canada does not have a form of television that does not require a recurring cost.

Thank you anyway, @Timewise 60+ . I didn't look up that info until you mentioned it. I appreciate any input.

Looking a little further, I see suggestions about where to locate the rabbit ears or aerial. Fine if you have a house with an attic, or windows on all sides, but apartment dwellers and others might have a problem.

Anyway ... I get a lot of pleasure from listening to podcasts while I exercise. But I don't want to listen to podcasts at other times. I guess for me, entertainment has to involve the visual. Or the physical (as in dancing).

It depends. I've always liked Selleck, so I watch "Blue Bloods" or "NCIS" there's some movies I liked enough to rewatch.

Hang out here and another forum which recently has shown that some moderators are a tad racist, or don't like hearing about how certain refugees treat others.

I rewatch strange videos.

Why not ?……they do it in their bedrooms now ! Or in the parks solo
Their parents are lax and haven't instilled hope for a good future. College is time for pot, etc., not high school, JMO. Parents should start programming their kids re: drugs in elementary school, and be brutally honest that it won't be tolerated.

I was about 60 at the time, hon.

BUT!...he allowed his son to smoke it. John, my nephew. He started toking when he was about 16 and dropped out of school in the middle of his senior year, soon as he turned 18. He tried all kinds of drugs, but weed is still his favorite, especially if it's laced with an hallucinogenic.

He's in his 50s now. Homeless and alone. He hasn't worked much all these years. He doesn't like to work. He's mostly lived off his dad and a string of lady friends. The latest one to leave John was a psychotic lady with one leg. She beat the crap out of him before she left, but she'd helped him apply for SSDI, and that more than made up for it if you ask him.

"This is your brain on drugs."

You said before that kids shouldn't smoke weed before they're 18, and I agree 100%. Especially these days, when you're buying "designer cannabis" with hallucinogenic, opiate and amphetamine additives. Young brains are still developing neurons and synapses, and still refining the ability to reabsorb neurotransmitters ...well into our twenties, some scientists say. You can't mess with those processes. It'll most likely turn out badly if you do.

That's true of most drugs, and also some of the chemicals used in food processing. And that's not an opinion, it's a (suppressed) fact.

Like the classic scene where that one guy in the group bends down to snort the party powder and sneezes 3 lines right off the mirror.

I'd just moved into my old apartment, so this was 6, 7 years ago; my older brother came to help me move some furniture around and broke out a doob at break time. "C'mon, Frank, you know you want to. You need to, man, you're all stressed out over nuthin." So I took a couple little hits. After a few minutes I told him I wanted to hang up some pictures of the kids but I felt like part of the couch and I couldn't move. He laughed and said, "You can move. Just get you're arse up and hang them pictures."

When I sobered up many, many hours later, these pictures were all over the place, every one crooked, none of it making sense.

It was an order-obsessed neatnik's nightmare.
But, think of all the fun you had while doing it. lol
