Where’s the Quality?

DH just spent ages on the phone reporting our second wi-fi light switch that has failed. They were just under and just over two years old when they failed. The warranty is for 5 years. They don’t question it because these haven’t even been manufactured that long.

The electronic, powered by battery, door locks aren’t even a year old. At first we were blaming the batteries and replaced them. Apparently, there’ve been complaints about them being too loose. Replacement ‘holders’ were sent. Totally wrong size. DH had sent specs and the photos. Then the new replacements arrived and within a few short weeks, they were signalling that the batteries were depleted again. They test fine. Now they’re sending total replacements.

This is highly disappointing as neither product was a no name item. They do stand behind the warranties. If this had just been me, I’d have to hire someone for installation. Fortunately DH is handy but who wants to keep fixing things? As the title says, where’s the quality.
