I have six different types of masks and all but one are made in China. The best one is made in America because it is thicker, lighter and covers more of the face.
A team of scientists and academics from Europe and California recently built a computer simulation demonstrating if 80 % of the population would wear masks infections would plunge by 90%.

We hear this over and over again, FM, yet so many refuse to wear them. I don't get it.

Part of the problem may be that they keep telling us that the face masks protect other people out there a lot more than they protect the wearer. Maybe there's a mentality among some of us that says, "Why bother inconveniencing myself to protect other people from something that I probably don't have anyway?"

Personally, I feel a little more protected with the mask on. Maybe that aspect should be emphasized.

fmdog, everything is made in China. That began long before the coronavirus.

Pls note it's rather offensive for you to call it "the China virus". The virus itself is specifically SARS-COV19; the illness is COVID-19.

We don't call the Spanish Flu the U.S. Flu, nor do we call AIDS the African Virus.

Epidemiologists do not endorse using nationalist labeling of viruses and coronaviruses. Viruses don't care what color you are, where you live, or what you believe in.

Pls note that what is truly offensive is that the Covid-19 virus came out of a Chinese lab, probably through bad sanitary practices, and that the Chinese covered it up at first, lied about it, disappeared a couple of whistle-blowers, and continued to let people out of their country in droves, thus infecting the rest of the world. THAT's offensive. So if someone wants to call it a Chinese virus, I'm fine with that.

This virus started in China but it has not yet ben proven exactly from where. It is not the first or last as long as China refuses to take action immediately instead of trying to cover it up. They are the worst nation on Earth.

Calling it the China virus, or even worse, Kung Flu, is schoolyard taunting. It is a cheap attempt to slam China, as if that nation deliberately created a virus to kill a lot of people. I think this forum would be better without the name calling.
