Where did you sit on a plane?

It use to be you could sit anywhere once you got on board an airliner.Today you have to pay extra if you want a window or aisle seat, eventually you will need quarters to use the lavatory.

I've always choose the window seat in the rear of the aircraft because I've always belived that in most airline crashes all of the survivors sat in the back the plane.

I haven't had to pay extra (yet) for choosing a seat. What airline charges extra for that? I'll be sure to avoid them.

I always ask for a window seat, but would not pay extra for one. Like you Davey, I prefer the back of the plane, rather than the front. I have never flown first class either.

Just doubled checked, looks like Im a bit off here. There is a Preferred Seating that some airlines charge for or dont.

I think some airlines will charge you extra for carry-on luggage such as Spirit and Frontier.

ALL the airlines today are trying very hard to extract fees from passegers.

Ive always laugh at those first class passengers when boarding and walking past them,ya notice most of them keep their heads down (G)
Ive often wondered why the airlines didnt have a rear door for us cheap paying passengers.

My friend and I always get aisle seats across from one another if possible. We fly American and on the last few flights we could have First Class for only $30 more, would like to try it next time as I've never flown First Class, the seats looked really roomy and comfy.

Don't say that...SeaBreeze...lol

Haven't flown in years, and don't really plan to again. My favorite seat was always by the window.
My favorite place to sit now, is out in my yard in my lawn chair, watching planes fly over ..:)

I've never been picky about the location but when they ask me if I would sit by the emergency door I always said yes - they seem to have more leg room.

For $30.00 extra, I would definitely grab that deal. Flying first, if you are going long distances is highly recommended. Get a frequent flyer card and accumulate miles and then use your miles to upgrade. You'll love it, especially if you are on a larger plane and flying across country or over the ocean to Europe or other long distance.
