I decided to have a moving sale yesterday and today. Only 7 cars stopped. Traffic seemed sparse for a weekend. Is it the gas prices?
Might be. I don't go out anymore because of the gasoline prices. Over $3.00 a gallon here and going up, up, up! Thanks to the Keystone Pipeline being shut down and other idiotic decisions that were and are made in government.I decided to have a moving sale yesterday and today. Only 7 cars stopped. Hope you didn't put those sandals out for sale, @debodunI decided to have a moving sale yesterday and today. Only 7 cars stopped. Traffic seemed sparse for a weekend. Is it the gas prices?
Connect the cost of gas with the cost of oil on the commodities market with the attitudes of commodities traders about future supply lines and you may have an answer.protruckdriver said "Might be. Our gas is 5.20 per gallon for regular.Might be. I don't go out anymore because of the gasoline prices. Over $3.00 a gallon here and going up, up, up! Thanks to the Keystone Pipeline being shut down and other idiotic decisions that were and are made in government.![]()
Now that’s funny.Utah, Pie and Beer day
Our fuel has been sold by metric measure for a good few years. It was, to my mind, a cynical way of hiding the true cost. Our gas is 5.20 per gallon for regular.
over $3.00 a gallon?... you wanna try living here...£6.95 a gallon for Unleaded around here... and more for Diesel.... ( US equivalent $9.56 )protruckdriver said "Might be. Nobody goes to sales anymore around here. Its too hot here during the day to attend them We used to go in the early spring, fall and early winter. What was the temp there, Deb? Also I had better stuff than they did and needed to be getting rid of it.
I guess you have all the bases covered. There could be multiple reasons for low attendance at garage sales these days:
1.You've been having multiple sales for awhile now and previous shoppers may think you're selling leftovers no one wanted
2. Previous shoppers may think your prices are too high
2. Younger generations aren't into older generation stuff for the most part
3. The older generation is downsizing and there are so many of us (babyboomers)
4. Some of us are moving on to heaven and hearses don't pull U-Hauls
4. Pandemic is alive and the new variant, Delta-Virus, is scarier and spreading
5. Minimalism style is trending
6. Not as many people buy collectibles or have collections as a hobby
7. People are spending their money on more practical, essential items like cars, houses, land
8. Media makes fun of the older generation's treasures with shows like "Hoarders"
9. People want second-hand items for free, basically.
10. People are saving because the future is looking more scary as time goes on
11. People want new-in-package for sanitary reasons
12. Amazon makes shopping easy, fast, and affordable...especially black friday, tech monday, etc
You're kidding, right? "What does the closing of the keystone pipeline have to do with the gas prices?"protruckdriver said "Might be. I don't go out anymore because of the gasoline prices.
