Which is the best pet? Dogs. Cats. OR Fish??????

I'm biased. I had cats most of my life. So well, for me, it's cats, hands down. I guess a dog like the one in "Frasier" would do in a pinch. I can't believe some like fish. So what's the best pet??????????

Dogs every time!!!! I could bore you to tears with all the photos of our family dogs!!:D I'm allergic to cats.

Good reply Rose! I agree with Ike, the best pet is whatever one you like, I like both dogs and cats, have one of each at the moment, hard to say which I like more....love them both. :love_heart:

I get along great with cats, but, due to my wife's allergies, can't have any. Have had two, at different times, Bettas, but found out we just aren't fish people. Sold the 5 gallon aquarium and all supplies.

Did have a dog in Colorado. A mix of Siberian and Malamute Female Husky. She absolutely loved the winter snow there.

Next dog will be a Shi Tzu pup. That will come after we sell our boat in a couple of years.

Shih Tzus are great little dogs who don't shed. Their coats are more hair-like than fur-like, so while they drop a few hairs, they don't shed a mess like most dogs. Poodles don't shed either.

We love our sheep. They've traveled the world with us. We also love our dog, but he doesn't fly. I have loved all of the cats I've had, since childhood. My fish all had great personalities, as did my iguana, skinks, anoles, snake and newts. My cockatiel is a real character, too. (Note: Only the sheep are "viscerally challenged.")

I agree with RR also.

When I had cats, I liked cats and now that I have a dog, I like dogs.

But mostly dachshunds because they’re like a cat/dog.

After Pickles dies, no more pets for me....he was 11 on Sunday so hopefully he has a few more years.

That was a Jack Russell on Frasier, high energy, somewhat annoying.
I love them both too, currently have 2 cats,it's debateable which one is more of a goofball:)
Fish are versatile though, tired of them? Flush time...
When kids were small we had a garden snake,a turtle,to many gerbils / hamsters, fish, rabbit, dogs and cats, then we moved to the country,my NYC born and bred hubby decided to be a farmer...chickens,goats and pigs...believe me,Green Acres had nothing on us!

That sounds amazing, Giantsfan, to have chickens and goats and pigs. Pigs, may be too much even tho' I love them.

I like Shaun the Sheep and used to watch the movie/videos with my grandkids.

I prefer dogs but I like to watch outdoor cats play.

A hamster is a good pet , Falcon, if you don't mind your pet dying in a couple years. I don't think they live too long. I don't like any rodent so they aren't for me. One of my grandson's had a cute little hamster and he'd put it in a little exercise clear plastic ball made for hamster's. It would run all over their house that way and scared my 2 little dogs.

My sheep; Sheepee, Sheepette and Sheepateenie, really like Shaun the Sheep features. We always put them on the coffee table when we're queuing them up, on Netflix, so they can watch.

Treeguy, you put your sheep on the coffee table to watch TV? Are they stuffed animals or real sheep?

We don't use the "S" word, in our house. We prefer to say that our sheep are "viscerally challenged." I posted a pic of them, earlier in this thread.
