Which Is Your Choice In Milk, Whole, Skim or In Between?

Always used 2% milk myself until now. Could not get it the other day so bought Whole milk ringing in at 3.5%.

Love the difference in my coffee so will spend the little extra and make the switch. And why do they charge extra beats me.

I always use Skimmed milk.... ( I used to have gold top full cream milk many years ago, and loved it to make coffee, or put on cereal, but I put a whole load of weight on)... I've used skimmed for many years now, and if I even have semi skimmed I can taste the fat in it..

I like them all but have had to settle for unsweetened almond milk to avoid the carbs.

The local Wegman's sells fat-free skim rich milk that has a nice texture with all the benefits of regular skim milk.

It is ordinary skim milk with a cellulose gel thickener added to it.

Years back, was getting whole milk by gallon jugs from a local dairy, skimmed off the cream, for fruit and desserts, that came to an end, were banned selling unpasteurized milk, back to store milk. Tried different milks, settled on skim milk, drink coffee black, so don't need the creaminess, drink skim ever since, love the extra cold skim on a hot day, and with brownies, choco cake, anything chocolate. Drink 2 or 3 glasses a day, but i am puzzled as to how much sugar is in the milk, even skim.

When I was a kid we used to get raw milk from the farm down the road.

My grandmother would trade eggs for the milk my sister and I were the runners.

It was a long walk and I remember having to change hands or take turns with my sister to carry the milk home in an old pickle jug similar to this one.

Funny how I enjoy the memories of those chores more now than I did actually doing them at the time.

I use Almond beverages regularly now and must admit that I now prefer them over using 2%. My favourite is the unsweetened vanilla ones although they aren't always available for some reason. My brother also uses Almond drinks as he struggles with kidney disease so must avoid dairy products as much as possible. I do hope restaurants will one day offer these dairy "alternatives" as part of their menu.

Sorry about your brother Lashann.

Can you or Keesha tell me what exactly are these almond beverages made from? Lots of calories or not?

I moved to unsweetened, unflavored almond milk 6 years ago and don't miss cow's milk. I splash a total of about 8 oz. each day in my several cups of coffee - I warm it in a little glass pint jar each morning, which is how I know how much I drink.

For drinking, fresh organic farm milk in a glass bottle (2%), and for coffee and tea, canned evaporated milk.

I've never liked drinking milk. Dunno why. Guess because I saw where it came from at the 4H farm as a kid (can still see the hay floating on top.)

I only use it on cereal, to cook with, and the occasional cup of tea. Coffee is taken black.

Always whole milk.
