White sox on guys- Scourge or fashion statement?

There are some issues you just can't ignore. And one of them is guys wearing white sox. I wear white sox ,because they seem to be more comfortable, and they are made better than black sox. And, yes, white sox are the ultimate geezer symbol. White sox on guys- Scourge or fashion statement?

Since you asked, I think white socks at home are fine, but in public, no. It's not what I prefer, it's what you prefer, wear whatever color socks you want. Do you really care what others think?

In the summer, it's easy to spot visiting Europeans in town. The men wear white socks with sandals.

Nothing wrong with a confident geezer. It's not like the fashion police haul dudes in for wearing white socks. Personally I don't even notice what color of socks a man is wearing.... well, unless his socks (any color) are pulled up to his knees while geezer shorts are down to the knee, too... that causes a giggle or two. There's only like an inch of knee showing.

Hubby wore white tube socks more often than not. Thankfully, if he wore sandals, hecwent barefoot.

However, the one time, often enough BTW, my heart skipped many beats when he was wearing his kilt. Phwoar!

Same here, although not long ago I tossed the last of my white socks that had gotten thin and holey.

With all that's going on, I think it superfulous to worry about someone's footwear. If they're comfortable, so what? What I can't get around is so much public barfootedness or wearing shoes without socks

White sox? Ugh! Can't stand to wear white sox. Black sox only in my sox drawer, besides a few other colors, but no plain white.

I never wear them with sandals or flip-flops but white crew socks are all I wear and as a matter of fact mama just bought me a new twelve pack of Hanes just the other day.

Fair warning, before y'all rat me out to the 'Fashion Police' and they come banging on my door to confiscate them you might want to warn them that I'm armed and am fully prepared to protect my socks to the death.

I don't think I've ever cared what is in fashion let alone care about the color of my sox. I like the kind of sox Ike shows in post #16. If there is someone that wants me to wear what they think I should wear then they are welcome to buy me sox in my size.

My husband never wore ( wears ) anything but Black socks.. he buys a dozen or so pairs every few years , exactly the same type, and that way he can have them loose in the drawer, and just grab a pair out in the morning, even in the dark without getting odd socks.. and when one sock gets a hole in it, he can toss it an still have matching pair..

Nothing but black socks? Was he a funeral director?

My sock draw has a myriad of colours, this is just one of them. Argyle socks, no point wearing multi coloured blazers and having plain socks.
