Every time I think they cannot possibly get any more STUPID...they do!

Superstition and mass hysteria are recurring features of the human condition. People used to believe that their neighbor’s wife had become a witch and was flying around doing mischief in the night. Now they believe that if you don’t subject yourself to a risky and dangerous vaccine, you’re more likely to get in a car crash. How does the vaccine immunize you against automobile accidents? Hey, trust the science!

This arrant nonsense was actually published this month in the American Journal of Medicine, proving yet again that academic study in the United States has become irremediably politicized and open to cultural and intellectual fads. Honest investigation of a controverted issue, leading to the acknowledgment of unwelcome truths, is vanishingly rare. According to Fortune magazine, this study claims to prove that “if you passed on getting the COVID vaccine, you might be a lot more likely to get into a car crash.”

I trust no one; only myself. Don't trust the media especially. Way too many people starring at phones instead of reading a good book to understand what is happening in the world.

Stories about Hollywood weirdos, what the Kardashians are doing today, why rich Harry and Meaghan are upset today, Johnny Depp and his sex life and the non stop media love for Donald Trump and for every word he utters are making the public stupid. 500 channels of TV and magazines such as "National Enquirer" don't help. There are a lot of very simple people in this world and the media caters to them.

Fortunately, there is some hope. Some people do read good thought provoking books, read longer articles in the paper and try to use a variety of news sources. Unfortunately, the lovers of Kardashians, Harry and Maeghan and Johnny Depp win by their massive numbers.

Yeah. And they vote. That's why we are where we are.

{shrug} the data speaks for itself. It was not suggested that the vax made you immune to auto accidents. What it said was that unvaxxed folks have accidents at a higher rate than vaxxed folks. They postulated that the correlation was because the unvaxxed, generally speaking, are less educated, and are more likely to engage in risky behaviors, which would lead to higher accidents rates. I haven't had a stats class since grad school, but as I recall, the first lesson on day one was that correlation does not imply causation.

This was an association study. The authors looked at over 11,000,000 medical records to determine if there was an association between vaccine hesitancy and risks of a traffic crash. They found that those who did not have the COVID vaccine also tended to be younger lower income males living in rural locations who were more likely to have a diagnosis of alcohol misuse or depression. The authors state that one possible reason for this association relates to a distrust of government or belief in freedom that contributes to both vaccination preferences and increased traffic risks.

It was a waste of damn money and another effort to induce further brainwashing regarding the vaccine.

Oh, yeah, have you seen the latest articles about them now admitting the vaccine can cause blood clotting?

That was another piece of info which they decried as misinformation for a loooong time.

Do you ever get tired of your own negativity, or is that what trolls thrive on?

Reminds me of how they get their exaggerated Covid mortality numbers.
Someone jumps off a 20-story building. If they test positive for Covid, the cause of death is listed as Covid.
Even better - those earlier reports of "So many Covid deaths & no room to store the bodies, so they parked refrigerated meat trucks in hospital parking lots. :ROFLMAO:

In spite of the sarcastic tone of the article the statistics remain true that people who are unvaccinated are more likely to get into serious car crashes (meaning they had to go to the hospital) than people who are vaccinated. The statistics came from the ER room where medical information is usually collected. We can draw our own conclusions as to the reasons for the correlation.

Covid deaths in the US supposedly started in Washington State, a nursing home. I know an insider that says matter of factly that those 30 plus deaths reported were lies for the most part. 18 plus were folks on their death bed unrelated to Covid. Anyone with any common sense knew these numbers were lies anyway, 30 plus deaths in one nursing home? Nope! Not taking away from COVID’s seriousness just pointing out the blatant dishonesty, must have been money involved eh? Duh.

It's astonishing what people will believe - provided they're easily frightened.

I like this part in the Geller Report article Junk Science Strikes Again. P. T. Barnum famously said, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” It reminds me of another phrase “When someone thinks they are being stubborn they are actually being stupid.” These types of reports are for entertainment only and only created as an off the wall story so the writer and the editors can make money.

Here's my conclusion: The "anti-vaxxers" were (and are) a bunch of ignorant yahoos. I would bet that unvaccinated status correlates closely with cigarette smoking, vaping, excessive alcohol use, wife-beating, consumption of deep-fried Snickers bars at state fairs, tattoos, crappy jobs, getting into traffic accidents, and thinking that the people inside the Capitol on January 6 were either innocent tourists or patriots doing their civic duty.
😁 You forgot to include white supremacists.
