Who decided that we Stay Home.

Is this a scientific absolute must, or has it come
from some younger generational decision that
it might be a good idea?

From people who were so frightened that they
were feeling sick about it, not the virus itself, but
the thought of catching it.

Mike.

Thank you Ronni, did he also tell the Chinese
and the Italians to stay at home, I wonder.

The president of Italy, Mattarella (sp?) ordered his entire country to go on lock down on 3/9 until further notice.

Too little, too late.

it makes perfect sense to keep indoors - but still go for walkies or alone ' just imagine if we was all still mixing
the death rate would have trembled by now ' still think they may do a curfew in time --

Well it certainly didn't come from the young-uns because they were still out partying, not very much social distancing going on. Of course, Ronni was correct.
For whatever it’s worth my “younguns” are all taking this VERY seriously and all but one have quarantined themselves and are working from/staying strictly at home. Nashville’s “stay at home” order excludes a list of essential services and so one of my boys has been finding work in construction to help stave off losing his place to live, since his own work shut down completely several weeks ago.

And that's a good thing. Your young-uns are doing the right thing but there have been so many news stories about the many who aren't. My son and grandchildren are doing the right thing too but my son is a trucker who must go to work and my oldest grandson, a very conscientious young man, has to take a bus that goes back and forth between New York City, so I've told him to take all the precautions. Blessings to you and yours Ronni...that you all will remain safe and well.

You wanna see Malaga in Spain where my daughter lives ? ( she lives in the mountains but she lives in the Malaga region)... this is a helicopter visual of the city and the beaches of Malaga ... (the army has now been brought in to the major resorts as well )...this was taken at 2pm this afternoon, traditionally the busiest time of the day when people are driving home for siesta.. ... and until we can make everyone in this country and others they have to stay home like this, we will never beat this Virus

We have the national, state and local authorities, and on a local level, I have a protective wife and I fear her wrath more than any of the rest. Today, I got approval to drop off some pants for hemming and to pick up a bottle of Harvey's Bristol Crème.
I came home to unimaginably good smelling soup. Made by a rather serious lady.
I pay attention to her views on topics like this!

Wow. That's unreal! o_O I caught a glimpse of maybe ONE vehicle on the road....and I wasn't sure of that even. I sure do wish Nashville were taking the stay at home order that seriously. Certainly a bunch of businesses are closed, but there's still plenty of traffic on the streets and I just can't believe every one of them are part of the list of "essential businesses" that they Mayor excluded from the stay at home order.

Benjamin Franklin once said: "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

Get used to this quote, I'm going to be using it a lot, I think.

here in my little market town and surrounding village areas, in the countryside, people are pretty much obeying the rules, but in the larger towns and cities, there's just too many people who seem to think the rules don't apply to them, and what's worse the police are no being forceful enough in enforcing the rules. ..people are crowding in parks... they're sitting around drinking alcohol in the public gardens.. they're out at the beaches... if it was me I'd just turn a full water hose on the lot of them, and send them scurrying home everytime they were caught out for anything non -essential. ..and persitent offenders should be locked up all in one large room where they can infect each other and leave innocent people alone...

perhaps cameras should be set up in hospitals and beamed into every computer screen to show the hard work, exhaustion , long hours and desperation of the medical staff trying to save the lives of people with Covid-19.. before it will sink into the brains of some people just how serious all of this is.....

I have noticed traffic getting lighter and lighter. This morning, our state’s stay at home program began and will stay in effect until 4/30. But anyway, traffic was seriously light. I work in a grocery store, so I’m expected to go to work, otherwise, I could go on UC and collect an extra $600.00. That’s ironic because it’s only a part time position and I do it just for something to do and pass the time.

I don’t think it’s taken seriously here, but we only have 221 cases in the county and 600 in the state total so that may be why. We have pretty much stayed home now that we have everything we need.

how are you protecting yourself oldman, from catching this virus from potentially hundreds of infected customers... ?

I'm not complimenting the Londoners still gathering, please don't get that impression @hollydolly; rather, it's people being people. Like with the "War on Drugs" or "Prohibition" you're not going to stop people from being people unless you mow them down. That's fine if you like Tiananmen Square,

I, for one, hate not being able to go out to the movies or out to eat. Occasionally went to the mall, but not very often. Now we pick up J from the group home on Saturday, bring him to our house, get take out, and he goes back home.

He is still having a hard time understanding why he is confined to his house while his roommates still go to shelter workshop. I am having a hard time understanding why they get to leave, lol. It’s all in the way the governor wrote the rules. Our other son still goes to sheltered workshop.
