Who gives you your medicines?

Say you need a pain reliever for a procedure but the doctor will not give it to you because of side effects.
Have you asked your Primary doctor for it? Did he or she do this? Even a small number of tablets?
Or ask another specialist?
 

Primary care doctor came through for me several times on different occasions. Every specialist I ever went to only made things more difficult.
 
I've always trusted the guidance and experience of the health professional overseeing the situation or the local pharmacist when it comes to OTC medication.

IMO going from one medical professional to another in order to get what you feel you want/need can be very dangerous.
