So who holds power over me? Nobody. Likewise, I hold power over no one. Are there people I'm eager to help and do favors for, and they feel the same about me? Of course. But power or control? Nope.

All my life, both in personal/family and at work, whoever had the most power was whoever had the biggest mouth (most domineering personality). Which unfortunately wasn't always the smartest, kindest person.

Did you ever watch the series on the ID channel about serial killers? I studied them for years. I always wondered what made them stuck besides being sick in the head.

I don't recall one particular series, but I do and have watched a lot of ID Channel for years. If you have Netflix and interesting series is Mindhunter.

My partner and I have equal power in our household. I make many of the financial decisions but he keeps me in line re: practical things and how to behave when interacting with other humans.

He absolutely contributes financially. When I retired he went back to work. Not to get away from me, but for healthcare and to work for a non-profit organization that appreciates his skills and makes him feel fulfilled every day.

Now, when it comes to our two cats, they have more power than either of us. They meow and we come running.

Yes they are the source that is holding the electromagnetic power over us. As a long time Northern California resident, native Californian, happy to live in a modern science tech world human being, am quite willing to agree to the reasonable cost of services for all the public they charge. Heck. Its powering up this laptop and monitor I look at so much and makes life fascinating and fun. Immensely better than what our ancestors centuries ago were limited to.
