I talked with a lady I worked with in food service on the phone a couple months ago. I need to call her and check on her again. I just wish people would call me once in a while just to see how I'm doing. It feels unfair when only one person makes all the effort.
I know what you mean. It seems I always am the one to make the effort.
My youngest called me yesterday to discuss his research he helped me with to pair my phone to my car again.
I had asked him to just find one, if he could and send me the link.
He says "OK Mom, I found one (then describes it) then adds, it's on the way"
I said "No, I didn't want you to buy it, why did you do that?"
He laughs and says " I love you Mom and want you to not be so nervous driving with no directions"
What can you say to that?

My boyfriend, Sonny calls me first thing in the morning, several times during the day and then about 9:30 PM to tell me goodnight. I don't know what we find to talk about but we do.

We live on the West Coast. My sister lives in NY. Her orbit revolves around her daughters and grandchildren. Our orbit revolves around my wife's sons and grandchildren.
I talk to them every Saturday to keep in touch, especially since we are the last of our generation. My sister's calls are mostly about family, and my calls with my brother-in-law revolve around finances and scotch whisky.
I enjoy chatting with both of them.
